Man On The Inside ( Tag: Rulakh )

H O P E . D E A T H - R E I G N
Vampire || Wraith

It had been nearly an hour since Hope had demanded Rulakh to go find a meat suit as she so eloquently put it and to find her in the woods when he was ready. Her tone hadn't been of the usual affection or fondness Hope usually displayed when with the wraith and she wondered if he had even noticed as he had disappeared without hesitancy. She knew by asking him to do such a thing she was sentencing a soul to death, an idea she knew she should of been bothered by but she had far greater things to occupy her mind with rather then the life of one human. Besides it was the only way that he could communicate with her and she had some questions for him that needed to be answered.

Grabbing her leather jacket, Hope did not want to draw any attention from the rest of the family. As far as they were concerned she was stepping out for some air, stewing over the potential merger. The truth was Hope had to know exactly what Ru knew. It was already clear that he had been keeping things from her like the fact her mother was alive and in an asylum. For some reason he had chose to keep this little fact from her the last time they spoke and instead chose to divulge it to Karne rather then her. What she couldn't figure out was why. She thought that if anyone could understand her hatred for Karne it was Rulakh.

Stepping into the familiarity of the Black Woods, Hope was more then comfortable in the shadows and darkness the canopy provided. It was oddly peaceful despite the dangers. Her mother's charms did not extend into the woods and Ox Corp, although rare had been stopped searching the forest before. But Hope couldn't bring Rulakh back to the manor. To everyone else, Ru would appear as some strange human that Hope had just let waltz in. Plus she wasn't exactly sure if she wanted everyone knowing what he was capable of and what she had asked him to do. Some members of her family were more sensitive to the human condition then she was.

There was also another advantage to keeping this a secret. With Ajax proposing the merger, she had a lot to consider. Part of teose considerations was her suspicions regarding Ajax's and Karne's relationship. Ajax had made it quite clear that he was having some kind of communication with Karne. She wanted to believe Ajax not only because she had found herself developing a bond with him but because she wanted to believe that this merger was viable. If it worked they could bring about a new era for both of their families and give her siblings a sense of security they hadn't had in a long time. She wanted this to work, they didn't have many options left.

But as she mulled over her decision she couldn't shake this fear that Karne was possibly pulling some strings behind her back. Ajax had tried to reassure her that this was between them which she hopped to be true but she couldn't leave a thing like this to chance. If Karne had been planning something, Soul would have known or had a hand in it. Lucky for her, she had a wraith who just so happened to have all of the memories of one Soul Tygetsu. Rulakh was not only going to explain his actions in regards to her mother but he was going to be her man on the inside and tell her everything she needed to know about Karne. All she had to do was wait and keep a look out for whoever Rulakh had decided to wear today.

Her words had been of frozen formality, her demand not unnoticed in how rarely she commanded him; the same tone and voice that was Karne’s though feminine and this time, easily liked, adhered by and respected; the wraith followed her words by the letter yet not by mortal conscience.

‘Go find yourself another body and meet me in the black wood…’

Understanding only the literal with no perception of the world of humor, the Wraith required a new life, a new soul to be stolen from its earthen shell and replaced by the menacing presence, a symbiotic creature to humankind as long as it meant the appeasement of the young Lady Death; she was his ill-gotten lust, the creatures forbidden luxury, a taste of the living world so sweet that nothing else commanded his loyalty and his temperament as she ever would. Humans were basic beings yet she, without need to justify its own selfish and dark desires, she was all the Wraith beckoned for now.

So sweet, so innocent, there were some so unrespecting of the evil in the world that played foul to the hunger of demons and the dead alike, Rulakh’s prize was the ease in tonight’s possession. Tucked within the warm embrace of fabric and a woolen duvet; the wraith descended upon the young girl little older than a decade. Hope had commanded, the Wraith obeyed no matter the cost. The details had been sorely lacking thus the Wraith destined to find the easiest form of communication, such that could not fight and could not flee. The pair of life givers asleep in the next room, the girls gasp for a final breath gone unheard as the black consumed her and flooded her airways, suffocating and finite.

The journey was not long, the human body exhausting yet the Wraith of no need for stamina and living constraints dared to push the small husk beyond its former limits, running, not stopping until the image of the blonde headed girl burst through the tree’s in front of Hope; dressed still in her pajamas and offering the older woman a soulless blank stare. The very same so often offered in what was his typical form.

I am here”.

The voice was high pitched, a childs voice, a girls voice. It held not the contempt of the adults of earth; instead mimicking the lack of knowledge compared to what Rulakh had absorbed from the former body that had been Soul Tygetsu’s. No longer hindered by unfamiliarity, no longer burdened by such lengths of non-existance, it awaited Hope’s desires with clueless, unwavering devotion. Knowing not that she was angry with him.

H O P E . D E A T H - R E I G N
Vampire || Wraith

The winter chill was moving in on the Black Woods as Hope looked upon the devastation that Autumn had caused at her feet. Death and decay all around her. Winter was her favourite season, the cold air, the dark days and nights. She wondered at times if it was in fact a personal preference or her nature as she had yet to meet a vampire who said they enjoyed Summer even if they could face the sun like she could. Still the silence was a welcome friend as it granted her some time to think about everything. The merger, her role in it and of course the recent discovery of her mother that had brought her here in the first place.

Pulling the collar of her jacket, she reached into her pocket for her phone and instead found the cigar that Ajax had given her the night before. She pulled it out and sighed. It felt heavy in her hand as she had yet to make a decision on the merger. She couldn't deny the benefits if the merger went well. Security both physically and for the family, safety in numbers and a stability she and her siblings hadn't felt in years as well as restoring her family name to the greatness it once experienced. But these of course were conditional on the fact that she didn't somehow fuck it up. The ramifications of that far outweighed the positives going as far as facing the same fate as her grandfather. Dead and hated by those left behind.

Back and fourth, her mind switched from decision to decision, pro to con. Sighing, she slipped the cigar back in her jeans and tried to refocus herself. She couldn't possibly make this decision until she knew that her partner in it all could be trusted and that those around her were trustworthy, including Ru even her affection for him would not stop her from questioning him. The wraith had been gone for some time and Hope knew more than anyone what Rulakh was capable of. He had to be absolutely loyal or he posed to much of a threat to the family and those she wished to protect. She believed with all her heart that Rulakh would never hurt her but she had to be sure that protection went as far as her family and those that could possibly join the coven in the future.

A small flutter caught her attention as she looked in the direction it was coming from. It was approaching her but the beat was faster than she anticipated and smaller. Her eyebrows creased in confusion as she recognised the beat of a child but what was a kid doing in the Black Woods in the middle of night? Stepping forward she could the figure through the trees, a little girl, as she expected. But she was in her pajamas and relatively calm considering she was probably lost alone in the dark. Not wanting to scare the girl, Hope kept her distance until she reached the clearing. But as the small blonde approached it was becoming clear to Hope that there was something fundamentally wrong with her although it wasn't clear until she spoke.

Hope's stomach dropped as her eyes widened at the body before her. Her eyes went from her top to her feet and back up as she stood in disbelief as she was stunned at Rulakh's choice of a vessel. Taking a step back, Hope was truly speechless. Folding her arms, she shut her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed as she couldn't believe what he had done. But then she shouldn't of been surprised. Rulakh was a wraith, void of emotion, empathy or anything that made anyone remotely human and she had sent him and sentenced this innocent soul to death, another burden for her young shoulders. " Ru.. I can't even... " she said as she tried to compose her thoughts enough to address him.

Looking up, but only slightly given the girls short stature, Hope tried to look past the shell but she still couldn't bring herself to yell at a child. " Ru no kids... I mean it never again okay? They have to be this high or taller for you to take their bodies. " she said indicating her own height at least as a good visual that she thought he could understand. " This is just fucked up.. " she muttered. " When we are done here you put her back where you found her before leaving got it! " she ordered not wanting to leave the little girls body in the woods for anybody to find including Hope's own. She did not want to explain dead kids to Ajax or give Ox Corp a reason to search the woods for a missing kid and add to her list of concerns.

With the whole kid thing covered, Hope tried to move on knowing there was nothing else for her to do for the girl except to make sure her parents found her in the morning. A thought she did not to care to think anymore on. Trying to focus on her eyes, they were the only thing that didn't look innocent. " Now, Ru .. " she said trying to restrain her anger but her eyes and tone made it clear that her anger was bubbling just beneath the surface. " Why is you failed to tell me that my mother was alive and yet you somehow managed to let Karne know? " she asked seeing his actions as some kind of betrayal against her. " and before you answer that, why don't you look through those memories of yours or should I say Soul's and see what he knows about a guy named Ajax while you're at it. " she said folding her arms awaiting an answer furious, at not only Ru but at herself for letting this happen. Another secret for her to cover up and add to the ever growing pile.

The wraith remained, shadowed by the youthful corpse, innocent blue eyes gazing back at the Lady Death with a clueless and blank expression as if the child’s energy and lust for life had all been swallowed, consumed in the wraiths menacing possession. Rulakh knew not the problem, the disappointment that Hope portrayed, the creature simply remained motionless and silent until beckoned for a response.

As you wish”.

It spoke up in return, the voice of a girl not accustomed to anything of the life the Immortals knew, memories of pleasure, the love of a good family, the teasing of other boys in school. It all caused the Wraith to cringe inside, such warmth, such love, such disgust.

Soul’s body was not mine, completely…”.

He began to answer, the ease of the words far greater than that of those past. The Wraith had adapted, a merciless taste for survival, it had grown to fit the bounds of the unholy deed, corrupting souls and possessing their hollow outer shells, bodies to be his carriers into the living world.

I learned as we became one. I told the Father Death, he told you. I told you”.

Rulakh concluded as if it were all one in the same. Lies and deceit had led to Karne’s pain, the truth set him free and in turn reached Hope who knew now as Karne did then.

The Mortal Soul knew much. Ajax Matashina of the Elder Blood. The Father’s wish to unite your kin under his Council. A New Elder Covenant since its end at your Elder Deaths hand. The Mortal knew no more, it ceased with the absence of you and your twin blood. No contact with Matashina, only Human blood shed by the father, the mortal to cover it all up”.

Spoken in riddles, the ability to speak was one thing but the language still a manner of jumbled titles rather than earnestly spoken names. Hope had asked something very obscure in detail, grandueous and complicated for the Wraith to respond to clearly so it simply focused on Ajax Matashina for the time.

The Elder Blood and the Elder Death. Matashina and Crane”.

Hope absorbed all that was KnOT’s scriptures of Litany over the Death Covenant; his name imprinted on the undead heart; she would understand.

Both carried the bloodline of the first of your kin. Superior, immortal power. Your Father Death called to Matashina seeking assistance and stability for all Vampire Kin. Matashina to govern Vampire lineage, Karne to protect both Death and Reign”.

Too much perhaps. Elder Covenant, Death and Reign. Rulakh stood there in the childs form, looking up in placid question, uncertain but also uncaring. Answering as best the creature could.

The Mortal feared the Elder Blood, it would halt peace. Karne trusted Matashina, it guaranteed protection for the dead wood, the family Death”.

" As you wish. " There was something about those words that disturbed even Hope. She held no sympathy for the human condition but even she couldn't bring herself to kill children with the same callousness and indifference as Rulakh. Even as she tried to explain that this sight bothered her, he seemed to only be obeying because she ordered it, he failed to see the moral issue to his actions. She frowned as she grew concerned about Rulakh's place at her side. He had always been loyal to her, his devotion had been unquestionable. But he had changed somehow, maybe it was the entrapment he had suffered at Karne's hand or maybe her naivity toward him had disappeared with age. But as that little girl stood before her she could see Rulakh for the monster he could be.

As he spoke, he also seemed to fail to see how telling her father was a betrayal or the fact that he referred to him as 'Father Death' was a gross mischaracterization of who Karne was. She was struggling to see how his logic worked and yet she found it hard to remain mad at him. His logic was like that of the child he possessed. Simplistic and with no malice, at least not toward her. His actions toward of Karne of course were chosen to inflict as much pain as possible. " Ru.. " she sighed not sure she could explain human emotions to a creature the no longer felt them. " Just from now on if you know anything important, regarding the family or my mother, you need to tell me first, not Karne. " she said wondering if she had been clear enough for him. She was starting to realise that she was going to have to be very specific with him.

But before dealing with Rulakh, she had to find out if Ajax was as trustworthy as he portrayed himself to be. Thankfully, as inept as Ru was to emotion he was quick to give her all the information she had asked for. " Hmm.. " she hummed as Rulakh confirmed that Ajax was in the Elder Coven, a fact she knew from KnOT's journal. Her main source  of information these days regarding her family. She couldn't trust Karne, he had kept too many secrets and despite having told her that she knew everything, she was still discovering more about him and what he had done as  time went on. Only adding to the distrust between them. However, Soul was her father's only confidant and now everything that he once knew, Ru had access too. She would be a fool to not utilize it to the benefit of the family.

Unsurprisingly, Karne had been out killing people and leaving Soul to clean up his messes like Hope had tried to do before she knew the truth. The mention of her grandfather caught her attention, especially given how Rulakh referred to him as Crane, his mortal name. Rulakh spoke of how both vampires, Ajax and KnOT, how they were Elders because of the blood they were descended from, her blood. Karne wanted Ajax to lead them? In some ways, she wasn't surprised. She had seen Ajax's Coven, the strength, the stability. She had never seen her family like that. Ajax was the perfect choice. But why would Karne willing give up his power and hand it over? " You're certain Soul knew nothing of a merger? Between the Matashina's and us? " she asked knowing that she had to be very particular about her questions when speaking to Ru.

Stepping away from the little girl, Hope was quietly contemplating everything that Rulakh had told her and how it fitted into everything that Ajax had told her. Karne had made no mention of her to Soul and he had wanted Ajax to take over so was it possible that Ajax had meant it when he said that he saw potential in her? A small smile crept upon her face as she finally believed in what Ajax had been telling her all along. Yes her father had a hand in bringing him to Death Manor but everything that had followed after that was as Ajax said, his own motivation. Which meant everything he said to her and more importantly about her was his honest opinion. Sighing, with relief she turned back to face the blonde, looking down upon Ru for once.

" Thank you Ru. " she said genuinely although she thought the sentiment would be lost on him. " You're speech has improved since our last conversation. " she said admiring the progress although still disturbed that it came at the price of the young girl. " Now I need you to do something for me before the week is out. " she instructed. " I need you to go to Lacrimosa. I need you to find out everything you can about Ajax's coven. Who's left standing? Who do I need to worry about? " she asked wanting to do as much research on those who would be joining them. " Whatever you do, don't kill anyone belonging to the Matashina coven, I mean it, the Matashina's are not to be harmed Ru. " she was making herself perfectly clear. She was not going to be held responsible for Ajax losing somebody else he cared about.

" Ajax and me, we might be working together in the future. Merging the covens. I need to know what I'm getting into. Who I can trust. " she said hoping he understood what she was saying. She hoped that the protection he had thus far shown her family would extend to the new coven members. She had to yet to tell Ajax about Rulakh other then referring to what occurred regarding him and Karne. He had no idea what he was capable of and that she seemed to be the only one that he cared to listen too. He was a risk, she knew this but he had shown her more loyalty and devotion then she could of asked for. If she was to go ahead with this merger and ultimately become the Coven Mistress that Ajax envisioned, she needed someone she could trust undoubtedly and who would put her before else. That person was Ru.

A thought dawned on her and she smiled. " Hey Ru? " she asked with a clear change of tone. " If KnOT is Elder Death and Karne is Father Death.... what am I? " she asked curious about how Rualkh would refer to her. " It's not Daughter Death is it? " she asked smiling finding the names rather amusing. She was presuming she had one but perhaps she didn't, maybe Rulakh just referred to her as Hope or the pain in his ass. Regardless, the momentary amusement was a welcome relief from the burden on her shoulders. Unfortunately, Rulakh wouldn't get the joke or probably understand why she found it funny. It had taken Ru to become human for Hope to truly realise just how inhumane he was.

"You are the Lady Death"

As always, the Wraith looked first to her and in so, his words first mentioned spoke of her; making his focus clear. But a husk that was the childs, the eyes betrayed even the spirit, loyal to no bound and hindered none by such facades, integrity a concept but a lie when ones existance spread beyond the living.

"Boy knew nothing, no Ajax and Death but of the Elder blood. Everything before. Admired the history, learned much but never belonged. Wanted only peace of war, never deceitful"

A different body of different strengths, the child helpless and not of little opportunity. Soul knew the Covenant, a lie that could build upon other lies, security in Matashina beneath a facade of trust and honor. Perhaps to quick in hindsight was the hand that plunged steel deep into the father, the daughter wanting more of the creature yet.

"As you wish it"

The girls voice, melodic and sweet, a gift of life had it not been crushed, twisted and turned into something far darker. Rulakh was danger in every sense. Danger restrained, chained and dedicated to the one Lady of the Covenant it would ever follow; none after her.

"Matashina. Lacrimosa"

That sweet menacing voice repeated, confirmation and knowledge within; every memory remained, tied to the spirit long after the death of the void, the husk, the cage of bone and meat; it embraced the creature but the creature did not take burden by it.

"Take Animal, no child of Lacrimosa will earn favor. Friends yes though not of your permittance. Animal, pet will suffice. Something close, tell me all I thirst for"

The Lady Death was learning. Potential unhinged, dark and death like but not without it's promise. The Deathbringer, the Knight Errant of dusk and hollow, the reaper who's hands touched as the scythe brought the circle of the world to a close, full and immediate. Bred to kill, bred to lie and hurt, to harm and devour, the Wraith struggled to understand the living, no longer akin to life, it swayed in it's position, eyes of grey tasting the sting of the air, unblinking, unyielding to human habitual behaviors and mannerisms. The stare, steel as was the knife that cut the father.

"I obey. Always. Forever. Yours".

Lady Death, the name made her smile, it certainly had a nice ring to it, better then she had thought it was going to be in fact and surprisingly fitting given the role she was faced with accepting. She still wasn't sure whether this merger was going to go ahead or not. It was dependant on what Ru found out in Lacrimosa. But a part of her knew that he wouldn't find anything or least she hoped he wouldn't. The idea of the merger was slowly growing on her and she had grown fond of Ajax. She did not want to find out that he had been lying to her this whole time. She'd been betrayed enough times by men, she didn't want to add another name to that evergrowing list, not when she had friends in the Matashina Coven hat she genuinely wanted to help.

Rulakh elaborated more and Hope was reassured that he or in this case, Soul, didn't know anymore about Ajax and Ru was clear on the job that she had tasked him with. Thankfully Rulakh seemed to understand as he was committing to taking an animal. " An animal? " Hope hadn't even considered an animal but now that she thought about it, it made perfect sense. No one would pay any attention to a pet or a bird that was hanging around, it was the perfect alias for him and would ensure safety for Ajax's coven. " A pet is perfect. " she nodded approving of his plan. It was a relief to know that she wasn't going to have to worry about him there. She wanted to trust him but she was learning that Rulakh would go to any extreme, literally any extreme and she was going to have to handle him with care.

" I obey. Always. Forever. Yours. "

The words took Hope by clear surprise as she stared down at the child Rulakh possessed. Her eyes searched the girls and she saw nothing but his cold glare staring at her through the young girl's eyes. She hadn't expected such a declaration. She knew he was loyal from his actions, he had proven that time and time again. But actually hearing it, be it through a little girl's voice, was slightly surreal. She had never imagined she would actually hear those words come from him, possibly because up until recently he never had the ability to speak with her. But since he had taken Soul, things had changed, not only with him but between them. The dynamic had changed between them. Where before he had been a dutiful soldier for her father, he was now her soldier and that unwavering devotion moved her.

Walking closer to the apparent young girl, Hope looked past the shell for a moment. She tried not to see the young blonde whose life had been sacrificed for the sake of this conversation. Instead she tried to see through that facade and see the man behind it. To see Ru, to see the creature that was showing her such adoration, something that she had never truly felt before now. She kneeled down to join him at the level he was at. Her eyes now almost level with his. " Thank you Ru. " she smiled genuinely not even sure if he understood the level of emotion she was feeling. She leaned forward and pressed her lips gently against his cheek or in this case the girls cheek. As she pulled back she slowly rose to her feet again and smiled down on him. Her eyes locked with his as she waited to see if his reaction, if there was any.

Such affection was lost on the creature of velocity, the beast of darkness who’s soul had walked near thousand leagues farther than the mortal life could stretch, so forlorn and yet curiosity offered. Perhaps it hadn’t understood it’s own gift yet the Lady Death knew how to repay it, the dead little girl standing on her own two feet simply stared back at her in curious ignorance of these things. Emotions, appreciation and affection. Had it the mind to question, one would wonder what was the point when everything only wound up dying in the end, the gift of his touch alongside many others of the benevolent family of death, not to be mistaken for the covenant but the one true end to all things. The fact that it had felt the need at all to speak with such genuine persona was a testament to the affect the living seemed to have when possessed by the deceased, daunting and uncomforted by the change, the Wraith recoiled within the child’s body, as if shielding its very soul from any further degradation….

-Yet to shield yourself, to hide from something spoke of weakness…

The eyes of the dead shifted in this revelation, a chance of vault or vulnerability never having been possible in the past, not to the very nature and demeanor of the decayed spirit which it held to with all the glory of the darkness and cold of the afterlife’s embrace; so how and more importantly why. When had this change begun, when had Rulakh betrayed himself for the emotions of living people. It was only the slightest step in that direction yet to a creature so steadfast in its ways, such a thing was not as petty as the living might dismiss.

It is done”.

The girls head lowered, eyes closing and in that single movement, the creature suggested so much. Dismiss the subject, bury the feeling, kill something. The three priorities that were the remedy to such a travesty. It could only remain thankful that such words had pleased the Lady Death, she of whom would notice nothing of change yet hear his words as conclusive acknowledgement followed by what was a bow of formality of the old way.

Matashina remained far, however the venture would not begin without the Lady Death’s consent and so the creature remained, poised for any further instruction, craving for the taste of life on the tip of his tongue. Perhaps it would unite the child with the mother and father above; ensure all remains silent and unyielding.

Hope watched the girl closely hoping for some sign of emotion or even confusion. Quite frankly she would of settled for anything even disgust. Anything that proved that Rulakh was capable of feeling something, anything resembling an emotion. Proof that somewhere within him he was capable of connecting with the humanity he so easily snuffed out. But as she watched the girl's face there wasn't so much as a muscle twitch that might have suggested any acknowledgement or registration of emotion. He simply stared at her through the young blondes eyes with little care for feeling yet Hope struggled to believe it completely. Was he as emotionless and detached as he wanted her to believe then he would of had no reason to obey her as he did. Loyalty did not just appear from thin air and Hope was growing more and more curious about why Ru's loyalty was to her and she could ensure it. If anything Ru's actions proved to her that he was not a being she could afford to cross.

Ru spoke plainly and simply. What else was she to expect except his answer to her order. Sighing, she crossed her arms and looked somewhat disappointed. ' What am I going to do with you Ru? ' she thought to herself, thinking that had she said it aloud she would only confuse Rulakh. She had given him orders and did not want him thinking she had retracted them. She was slowly learning how literal a creature he was and how sarcasm and figures of speech were lost on him. Her words were being carefully chosen around him now given how his actions had been so literal. She couldn't risk endangering the family or Ajax's coven. It would only endanger everything she was trying to accomplish here with Ajax. She could also never forgive herself if someone she loved got hurt because of her orders. Soul, she could live with even Karne but she did not want a member of Ajax's coven hurt as they were about to become her own.

Looking down at the little girl once again she nodded. " Ok, make sure to return the girl to where you found her. Make her look.. I don't know peaceful. " she said trying not to imagine the pain the parents would feel at finding their child gone. It was a pain she could only relate with through her mother. Well what her mother used to be. The person she had become was barely recognisable to her anymore but once, once she would of gone mad at the thought of losing her children, unfortunately that had already happened. " Go straight to Lacrimosa and make sure to return before the end of the week. " she added not wanting him to take any longer than that. By that point Ajax would of returned and he would be expecting her answer. Rulakh would have to have returned by then to ease her suspicions by then or else she would be stuck buying time with Ajax and that was the last thing she wanted to do. Glancing own at her newly brandished tattoo she smirked, she was only just beginning to trust the guy, she didn't want to lose it before she had the chance to gain it.

" I'll see you when you get back Ru and remember ... " she paused as she held her hand up to her height. " This tall Ru. " reiterating her point just to be certain. She never again wanted to be faced with a child whose life had been taken all for the sake of a conversation. There were plenty of good for nothing adults that he could choose to inhabit rather than little kids. Maybe next time he could find one that was at least nice to look at. So far his options had been less then pleasing to the eye. Taking one last look over her shoulder she watched Ru walk away in the girl's body. She hoped he would do as she asked first regardless as to whether or not he understood her reasoning why. Giving orders was still relatively new to her and she wasn't confident enough in her own stature yet to trust her orders would be followed. All she could do was trust that Rulakh's devotion would be enough to ensure he did as she required.

As for everyone else, well she was going to have to figure that out as she went along. That's if she even went ahead with this whole thing. She hadn't decided one way or another yet as to her position on the whole thing. So far her plan only extended on finding out everything she could about the Matashina Coven and finding out what her siblings thought. Apart of her was hoping that maybe the decision would be made for her. That her family would be against it or she would discover Ajax was lying. At least then it would be taken out of her hands and off of her shoulders and she would not have to bear the responsibility for it's success or worse, it's failure.
