Re: Breaking Bread - ( Tag: Members of the Death & Matashina Coven )

Hope came across the foyer with a rushed pace yet to him she pulled it off well. He could tell how nervous she was but he saw that she was hiding it from the others and he had to admit to himself that she was doing a good job. She greeted them all with a warm smile one which he returned softening his own.
He continued to hold the door open allowing everyone to file though one by one. His attention having left Hope to watch the expressions of his 'family' as they crossed the threshold into a new home and hopefully a new life.
Enya and Matthew were first at his back, as he would have expected them to be as the only members that actually held claim to his blood line.
His anger with them for their previous foolishness for now hidden deep beneath the surface though he fully intended on dealing with the two of them once the dinner party was over. For the moment it was forgotten his main concern was making sure they all settled into the coven and were able to co-exist with the Death members.

Skymere, Djinnshoe and Crazul were the next who came through the door all in close succession, Skymere and Crazul looking nervous and uncomfortable with the whole thing.
The Dimitru siblings then began to file in one after the other but his attention was drawn away swiftly by Djinnshoe spouting off a load of rubbish to Hope about that infernal Llama he made Skymere take everywhere. Frowning at him in anger he glanced to Hope seeing that now the other members of Hope's coven had arrived.
He assumed them to be Marcus, Destiny and Roman and Ketzu from what Hope had told him about them all. Of course he knew Kenshu he offered her a smile but his attention soon went back to Shoe and Hope glad to see that Hope was not to badly thrown off by the whole thing, Shoe would take a little getting used to but she seemed to take him in her stride.

Turning away to close the door he saw another lurking with the car park, nodding to the boy he decided to leave the door open instead in case he wanted to come inside, he obviously knew the place and that this event would be going on.

Hope had handled Shoe with the promise of helping him solve the dilemma with the Llama. She moved on with humour seeming effortless with the transition into her welcoming the rest of his group. He chuckled in response but more at himself for worrying about how she was going to handle the craziness has been met with.
She introduced everyone again managing to keep that humour and he was glad for it in her keeping it light hearted he hoped that it would help to ease them all before the dinner took place.
It had been arranged earlier for them to go off and chose their rooms so they could get refreshed and sorted before the dinner was to take place.

Once she had finished her introductions she started to lead them away while still talking. He had trusted her to deal with this end of things and she had not let him down, having sorted out for them to have their own little area to start with and stocking their rooms up for them. Hopefully home comforts again would aid their transition.
Ushering his group he took to following behind them glad that they did not have to introduce themselves straight away.

Watching the group move before him he trailed behind looking over each of Hope's family once more bowing his head to them each in turn. Hope was not uneasy with him that did not mean he didn't expect any of the others to be. More often then not he tended to put people on edge without so much as trying.

Once they reached what was to be their quarters finally spoke up moving around to stand beside Hope who was leaving it up to each of them to choose their living quarters.
“Go and take a room for yourselves, I will come and get each of you when it is time” he informed them waiting for them to move away before he turned to look at Hope.
“Thank you, Hope” he smiled placing a hand upon her shoulder before he started to walk away intent on finding what ever room had not been taken by one of the others.
“I will see you in an hour”

Watching them all come inside one by one was like watching a funeral procession, each one dressed in mainly dark clothing with miserable or concerned looks upon their faces, it was a little disconcerting but he didn't really know what else he was expecting, after all they had just had to leave everything they knew behind including the bodies of their loved ones. The threat of Ox Corp had disfigured each and every one of them badly and he could certainly understand how that felt.
Most of them he did not know but he recognised Asha and of course Ajax.

He hadn't spoken, nor was he going to. This was Hope's gig he just wanted to be there for him should she need him. Her nerves were setting off his own no matter how hard he tried to block them and it made him feel somewhat bad for her.
The party life where they would both sneak out to the club and worry about having to sneak back in was now long gone and he felt a mourning for it. Life would never again be care free for either of them but especially for Hope and he wasn't sure where he stood on the whole thing. He knew for one that he felt guilty for not having been able to do it himself. If he had gotten his shit together quicker their positions would have been reversed and Hope would have at least had some freedom left.

The introductions came and went quick enough and painlessly even though Hope did poke fun at him.
He had moved aside to allow the new members to get upstairs then he had relaxed his shoulders out from their tensed position allowing a long and quiet sigh to slip between his lips before he looked to where the others were.
“That's it then” he chuckled shaking his head as he moved to walk away, deciding that going to the kitchen would probably be the best idea. That way he could at least help Hope with dishing up the food and arranging the plates once she had come back down stairs.

“Don't just stand there looking pretty you lot” he called behind him “Things need to be done”

As she entered the home her eyes swept across the vast stair case the walls and grandeur of the room they filed into. Soon the members of the death covenant started coming out. They all seemed relatively young except for the aunt kenshu and the uncle. The introductions came and went and before she knew it she was following the rest up to the stairs and down one of the wings of the mansion to find a room. Their small crowd dispersing. She found her self letting them take the first couple of them while she went to one on the left down at the end of the hall. She turned the knob and pushed open the door. She was pleased with The color and all it had to offer
She walked further into the room drawing her hands up to form a box with her Fingers. Hmmm hmm that would total work and that will go there...she walked around and checked many things already prepping her room for when her things would arrive
She would have this starchy hotel room looking more like her in no time. She just had to wait for her small shipment of things...hopefully that didn't poss off the death covenant, but she wanted her things. She already found the cat a home before she left, not wanting to cause ire with her New house mates. Her eccentric self will be housed in the room that she would call hers. Now that she figured out how her room would be decorated, she set the small bag she carried on the bed that held her toiletries and went to freshen up after there journey here. She was also glad Ajax was super busy, he hadn't scolded her for leaving on her own, but she knew It was a matter of time. She would not bore him with the details of why She did what She did, She would just except what was to come...

Everyone who needed to be there, seemed to be there. Skymere raised a brow as Shoe went off on one about Jerry the llama. He shook his head to himself at the mention of a stable, knowing the damn creature would invade whichever room Sky took for his own. He noted Hope watching his interactions with Shoe and realised how strange it might have seemed. Sky being who he was, but Shoe was important to Sky and not just because he could help Sky control his powers, but because he had never, not even once looked at Sky like he was evil. No, Shoe was his friend, even though he was annoying at times.

Sky nodded to Hope and then to Ajax in a sort of half apology as he could sense Ajax's anger towards Shoe in that moment. He took his leave as did the rest to find a room for him to live in here. Before he did however, he noticed another who came in behind the rest of them, one who was from the Death side, not the Matashina. Hope had not mentioned him at all and he wondered why. With a small glance between the two, he chose to locate a room downstairs rather than up.

The room he chose was one of the smaller ones, he was not greedy, however he made sure it had enough room for Jerry and a window to the back of the house. He put his bag down, a small duffel bag containing everything he owned and sat on the bed for a moment. If he could, he would have that be it and stay here, but he knew he had to attend the meal. He sighed to himself, standing and leaving his new room, making his way into the dining room to take a seat and wait for it to begin and be over.

Ryu stood just outside of the door and listened to the introductions, coming inside after he was clearly not included in them. He nodded to Ajax and another purple haired male who were the only ones to acknowledge his existence. Hope was clearly never going to except him, and her trying to act like he didn't exist already made her look like an immature leader. Ryu clenched his jaw with a small frown and turned, closing the door behind him and wishing he had said no when Marcus had asked him to stay. It didn't seem like things would go well here for him, the others would pick up on the friction between Hope and himself, and of course they would probably all automatically behave that way towards him also. He ran a hand through his hair before going through to the dining room, leaving the others to find their rooms.

Ryu stood at the window in the dining room with his arms crossed, looking out of the window in silence. He had an air of frustration and sadness surrounding him. Things would Hope were never going to be okay again. As much she hated him, she was the one who had left him first with no word. He had entered the arranged loveless marriage agreement because she had abandoned him, and now he was alone, even in this house full of people, he did not belong.

Ryu would wait for the others to come back in before sitting at the table.

Ketzu grinned as he was called the guard dog in the introductions, it was a good job this little merger had not being going on when he had had his crazy phase. He nodded to some of them as the introductions were finished, noting that Hope had purposefully and spitefully left Ryu out of them. He said nothing however, it was not his place to get involved with broken hearts and all that shit. He shook his head to himself, and turned to follow Marcus for a moment, ''Hey, you should uh, probably mention to them that your girl is not some snack for them.'' He said with a small smirk before making his way into the dining room.

He saw a glum looking Ryu by the window and gave him a smack on the shoulder before choosing a seat at the table. Ketzu sat back, very tempted to put his feet up, but again, he imagined Hope would be very quick to correct his 'behaviour' if she saw him doing that. He would have offered her some help, but she already had some hired help, and he was starving and slightly hungover, it was a miracle he was even awake right now. He leant back with his head looking up at the sealing, ''Uhh.'' He grumbled to himself thinking this was hassle.

Hope was introducing everyone and moved on from the Djinn's little outburst quicker then he probably would. He pressed his lips together to hide the fact that the whole thing tickled him a bit. Rubbing his face he hid the smirk knowing Ajax was annoyed enough with him and that he didn't need to make matter any worse by encouraging Shoe's antics.

Lifting his hand in a small half wave as Hope introduced everyone he looked at each one as she spoke of them seeing their obvious discomfort, a feeling he echo'd about the whole thing yet in ways he was glad that Ajax and Hope had pulled it all off.

As painful as the introduction was Hope for now spared them the same and let them go off to their own area of the coven house so they could choose their own rooms and settle.

Upon arriving in the hallway he watched his sister waiting to see where she chose. The easiest thing he could think of was to choose what ever room was across from her's, so that was exactly what he did.

Pushing the door opened he looked around. The size was fine, the windows were decent, all in all he was not unhappy with it.
Closing it behind him he pulled a zip lock bag from over his shoulder and lay it on the bed, opening it to reveal a tailor made Armani suit.

First stop was the shower, getting dressed then he spent a few moments styling his hair. Nodding once he was happy he looked formal enough to represent Ajax. He was used to such things in the job he had worked prior, at least this part of the change came naturally.

Crossing the hallway he straightened himself out before knocking upon Enya's door to see if she wanted to go back down with him to meet with the others.

Re: Breaking Bread - ( Tag: Members of the Death & Matashina Coven )

Post by Karne Reign on Fri 03 Feb 2017, 20:55

He stood upon the precipice to the Blackwood grounds, perhaps no longer being able to be referred to as the Death Estate any longer, the building he looked upon from afar appeared far busier than he’d seen it over the last decade.

In truth, Karne wasn’t certain whether he was going to show up at all. Though this change was a great importance to the survival of the family, Cassandra lay rested back within Saints Stand, the apartment hidden from all books more or less just another human looking home in appearance and Christ knew just how much mortals liked to invade other mortals houses for profit. Still, his daughter now had a large undertaking upon her shoulders and there together with Ajax Matashina, Karne imagined his show of support would mean something. Perhaps not much in these times but something was better than nothing.

The unseen veil that surrounded the Manor was likely completely amiss to those new to the grounds, yet as he paced slowly across the lawn coming from the dark tree line that surrounded the yard, his vibrant crimson eyes were drawn to the outskirts wondering just which of the witches had armed the mother of his children with such strong entities of magicks. She had asked him to speak with Hope, something he would do privately as most did not need to know though perhaps it would be wise, he pondered, that Ajax be there also now with the inclusion of the Matashina Covenant into their household. The two Coven’s coming together like this was a rather rare thing even by Vampire standards, most houses often preferred to keep their own standing, their own rules and traditions and yet in such times of immortal crisis and the near extermination of their race in Arcane, this had been the best play they could all have managed. It was the end-game that this plan was built off of, something that he knew would take time to adjust too, most especially to himself as he now stood outside of the inner circle to the families dealings, yet sacrifices were needed for their on-going survival and relations with the other houses.

Pushing his way through the side entrance into the Manor, he did not wish to make any sort of a fuss with his entrance, rather return to the home that felt incredibly unhomely now after the weeks he’d spent back in Saints Stand, almost foreign to him with the amount of voices he could hear traveling the walls. Separate from the main rooms, he first sought out one of the kitchens, one less tended to with the hope of securing himself a glass. Blood was a delicacy to him these days, he had not been feeding off of live supplements in a great deal of time, not since before Cassandra’s death when he had tried to promise her that he would stop being the cause to so much blood shed and violence. The humans weren’t exactly better off for his abstinence, yet it had grown on him and no longer did he feel inclined to hunt them down night after night. The blood packs that they managed to scrape by on were a worthwhile effort in that regard, meaning traveling the country side for a decent meal wasn’t always a necessity.

The red liquid sloshed about the rounded base of the wine glass as he poured himself a drink from the blood pack, it was far cooler than that from the living body which often made it far nicer to drink. Ever the introvert these days, he found himself considering how unusual his presence might be if anything, the sort of thoughts that you’d expect to cross the mind of someone who was anxious in meeting new people and yet at the same time there was nothing for him to fear, the only real potential harm that could come to him was from Ajax who was superior as far as the Elder blood running through his veins went, and that was only based on the possibility of not having good standing with any of them, which in itself was a lie, he was part of this Covenant, he had been dealing with it’s shit longer than most so why the sudden nerves. Shit, he almost felt human in his questioning himself. His thoughts moved back to Cassandra and soon evolved to envelope both her and their children. There lay the answer clear as day, the importance of the whole ordeal was of course setting the foundation for their children future and with things as tense as they were between Hope and himself, Karne found himself leaning against the counter with the full glass in hand, staring almost directly through the wall and reluctant to leave the isolation that he’d grown so used to. In his own presence, there was no one left to disappoint.

Re: Breaking Bread - ( Tag: Members of the Death & Matashina Coven )

Post by Kenshu Death on Fri 03 Feb 2017, 21:14

As she arrived Hope was well into the swing of it all introducing everyone, she seemed to be keeping it light and Kenshu looked at her for a moment feeling proud that she was managing to put all her worry aside to ease creatures far older then herself.
The girl she had once known did not care for such things, she cared about the next party of the next trend. She had been lovable but she had been selfish, this Hope was a more mature one, one that was putting the needs of so many others before herself. Kenshu had never imagined either of the twins being able to step up in such a way but Hope was going a long way to proving her wrong and she felt nothing but Pride.

As she looked around at the faces she offered a soft smile, most she knew but a couple she did not. It would be nice to have them all around, especially if she could get her mental affairs in order once again, she had tried not to dwell on them though keeping focused on what Hope was trying to do for them all now.

Everything was tidy and brief, soon Hope had led them all away leaving the family standing there before they all started to move off to sort things out.
Kenshu was about to follow up to where Hope was to find out what she needed doing when she froze her attention being focused else where as the atmosphere changed though only she would have been able to pick up on something so small. A wave in the spirits in the surrounding airs.
Taking her leave she moved through the house, going in and out of the more used rooms until she came on the door of a smaller kitchen area.
Moving inside she saw him there, drinking from his glass as though he had never been away at all.

She would have asked questions of him then, like where he had been or what had he been doing but as she moved closer to him she no longer needed to ask any of that.
Pale eyes sought him out, running from top to toes of his body then back as confusion drew lines upon her face. “Can't be true” muttering she walked ever closer until she stood uncomfortably close to her nephew.
He held a scent so strong it could not be ignored, yet it could also not be true. Breathing deep she looked upon his face.
Her confusion washing away as she made sense of it all. Worrying about it being impossible was pointless. The Death family had proven nothing is impossible time and time again, she would be a fool not to believe what her senses were telling her.
“It is good you are home. It is not good you stink of a human. It is confusing that the human happens to be the mother of your children”
As far as she knew no one knew of this, no one had spoken of it at least and even Kenshu with her twisted mind knew that now was not the time for such revelations.
“Clean up before dinner boy. Unless you want pandemonium” she fluttered her hands towards the door leading to the back end of the house
“Take a quiet route”

Kenshu…

Karne’s eyes widened, her voice sounded before her scent reached him and he turned with a partial stumble against the counter, glass in hand as he cast his eyes back to her in shock. He had not expected this, she had been gone for so long though that was normal for his Aunt, he had given up hope that all of the original members of their Covenant had abandoned these lands or otherwise been killed. To see her standing before him, her words barely registered as a wave of relief washed over himself. Karne could have used her throughout everything they had been through and the way she spoke to him, only a parent or guardian could have ever spoken to him like this. For once in the last god knows how many years, Karne found himself in the position of the youth looking up to an older member of his family.

Their past was awkward at best, Karne had forsaken most relationships with the first generation of Death out of spite of his father, leaving Arcane and refusing to be a part of it. In his return and at the murder of his father by his own hands, he had faced further confrontation with Lita and Kenshu, as well as Mindfuck though none of which grew physical…-Still, trying to make peace when it did finally reach the point of wanting inclusion into his bloodline, he was always just out of reach from knowing any sort of love as most families were accustomed to. In the absence of such care, his attitude had become far more arrogant and for a time he resembled the very man he had hated; only further pushing everyone away…

Where they stood now though, Karne wasn’t entirely certain. She was talking to him and she was guiding him though likely more for the sake of his children; she probably didn’t even recognize the weight of all things bringing him down yet he couldn’t help but smile faintly, glancing to the floor as if out of need to hide his appreciation for having her back. She, like his father came from a generation where emotions were best kept within and he was of the same make, unlike his children and their Mother. The shadow that hung over the original founding members to the Covenant was more often cold and factual rather than embodying the caring compassionate stereotype for others, especially within their own numbers. Still, there had always been this unspoken loyalty, despite all the atrocities they were capable of and both he and his father had been guilty of, somehow he still felt confident that Kenshu would die for him if it came down to it.

When she told him that it was good that he was home again, Karne’s head fell slowly to the left, a marginal gesture of intrigue as he wondered how long she’d been back exactly. He hadn’t seen her since she had pulled him from Mayhem at the attempt of trying to take down Plague. A suicidal notion of hope that he might benefit the family, yet she had saved his ass from the flames at the demand of his father who yet again had been one step ahead. Right up until his presumed demise.

Yeah…-You’ve got a point…” He nodded slowly, glancing to his glass and raising it to finish the last mouthful before placing it to the bench counter and turning to look back to her intently. He wanted to say a number of things in that moment. That he was sorry for all the shit he had caused for her both as a boy and later in his return to Arcane. He wanted to tell her that he had missed her and she was all he had left as someone that he felt confident in looking up to, someone that actually gave two shits about him before themselves as crazy as that may have sounded. He wanted to say these things, yet he never could…

It’s good to see you too…” he spoke quietly, barely more than a mumble though not without a hint of guilt falling over his back as he did his best to offer the rather less than reassuring compliment. “I better do it quickly I suppose…” He began to move to the door, only pausing when something else crossed his mind, another uncomfortable reminder. “Don’t go far, Aunty…-We need to catch up on a lot”. With that, his physical form disintegrated and his visage hollowed out as he shifted form and moved into the veil, changing as a wraith hybrid, it was the quickest way to traverse the house without leaving a trail behind him. As he did so, the scent of Cassandra’s human form left the air with him.

He ignored the looks of annoyance from Ajax and the discomfort from Skymere. Those things not only didn't matter to him for the most part he didn't notice them, their anger having to be a lot more obvious before he would pay it any mind.
His eyes were on Hope as he waited for her to answer him. She said she would find somewhere for him and then she moved on to what everyone considered to be the more important matter. He nodded silencing himself, yet it was not the last they would all hear on the subject.

They were led away and Shoe glanced over his shoulder as a male that had not been introduced closed the door behind them, sealing them into their new home.

Sky had broken away from the group first finding one of the rooms that had been put aside on a lower level from the others. Shoe followed him poking his head inside to look around. It wasn't the biggest room but Sky was always pretty minimal on all accounts other then Jerry.
"Hm not bad I guess" he stepped inside turning around the intrusion on his friend's privacy not something that occurred to him.
"You don't want to stay with anyone else?"
Despite Shoe's earlier dibs he didn't rush to find a room, he didn't really care. for the most part he would probably be working away from the house.

How ever Skymere proved to be in his own world so Shoe departed with a pat to the shoulder to find himself a room, making sure to stick to one close by his friend.

(( Apologies for the delay, I am currently training medics and buying a house. ))

R O M A N
Vampire

He took the time to look among the new group of people as Hope made her introductions. He smirked to himself as she tried to portray this perfect host. This was not the Hope he was accustomed too. The Hope he knew was all attitude and quick to put you down. If he had asked for a home for a llama he would of told to leave and never look back but with her usual venom. The fact that she was willing to entertain the idea told him how much this endeavor meant to her but he honestly wondered how long this would last. She is young and impulsive and he had always known her to act first and think about it later. He wondered if she was going to be able to overcome her own obstacles to make this work or if this facade would slip away and her true self would re-emerge and what the outcome of that would be. The new arrivals meant there was now more mouths to feed but more importantly more personalities to contend with. That would be the largest obstacle to overcome for everyone but especially Hope.

He remained skeptical as to whether this merger would ultimately work. He often wondered at times whether vampires were meant to live together. These covens and houses of vampire had many advantages but he never knew of a truly successful one. In fighting and back stabbing often meant that covens were destroyed from the inside out rather then from an outsider. Ox Corp of course had changed that in recent history but ultimately it was always the same. Fights for power and leadership were ultimately the downfall for most and the Death family already had a bloody history when it came to leadership. He had not yet decided whether he thought this would succeed, he supposed that Hope would ultimately determine that outcome. He would keep his cards close to his chest until the outcome was clearer to him.

As the newcomers moved to their rooms, Roman stood back as Marcus ordered them all to help. He was curious how the male twin felt about the situation. As far as Roman knew Karne had wanted Marcus to lead the family and now Hope stood in the position of power. He also wondered how Karne felt about his plans being changed. Despite their conversation where Karne had genuinely seemed to want to  be more involved in the lives of his children, he seemed more distant then ever and with Hope leading, he doubted that was going to change anytime soon. As everyone began to move in their own separate ways, Roman had decided he would retire to his room for the next hour or so and change into a more appropriate suit for dinner. " Destiny, I'm going to go get freshened up. I'll see you in about an hour. " he said with a smile as he imagined she would want to stay and help her siblings get ready. " If you need anything don't hesitate to ask. " he said and then stepped back heading back toward what was now their wing of the house. He would keep his reservations to himself as they would be of no benefit to anyone right now. For now, he would support them as best he could and watch. If this plan was going to implode he was not going to be in the fallout zone. His own survival was his top priority and although he had bonds with some of the family he would not let them destroy him as well as themselves.

Crazul found his way to a room, a smaller one towards the end, though, with a large window to look outside from. The room itself was fairly small, just large enough for a twin size futon. He had seen a few other of the coven poke their heads in, then quickly reject it due to its size, but, it felt good to him, snug, cozy, safe. After shutting the door behind him, and just reveling in the isolation for a minute, he took a closer look at the window, and discovered that just outside, was the top of a gargoyle styled buttress. Opening the window, he climbed out and just sat, perched almost, atop the thing, and just watched out over the darkened grounds.

Just watching out over the grounds, he quickly became lost in quiet contemplation, and lost track of time.

Asha/Caine/Nathaniel

The initial greeting from Hope went as smooth as could be expected and as soon as it had started, they had found themselves with a free hour before the commencement of the dinner which sat fine with the Dimitru siblings. Asha had watched Hope throughout the speech and felt a swell of pride for her best friend who seemed to have taken charge much better than she had projected. She had stood beside Caine whilst Nathaniel had paid alot less attention, scanning his eyes over the details of the mansion walls and architecture. By the time the group had dispersed Nathaniel was already nowhere to be seen, having headed off without Caine or Asha to see if Lita was about. He hadn’t caught up with her in some time and figured the only way to see if she was in was to actively seek her out in the first place.

“where...bloody hell’ Caine grumbled under his breath as Asha placed a hand on her brother’s shoulder.
“Hey look C, don’t worry about Nate, I am sure he will be at dinner, he knows how important it is. Why don’t we get your rooms sorted? I already have a room and there are two rooms available opposite mine.” Asha reassured Caine who had turned to listen to her and smiled appreciatively.
“..I suppose your right... yeah your right sis. Sorry I just have alot on my mind...good idea,’ Caine managed to mumble out as Asha watched him with some concern. She rubbed her hand across his shoulder as they headed off to the staircase. She wasn’t entirely sure if Caine could handle Nathaniel’s unpredictable nature but then again Caine had once been a party goer himself from what the boys had told her.

As they headed for the hall where her room was located she wondered just how different all of her brothers had been before she had met them. She knew some details from Vaughan’s journals but even so there were times when Vaughan had been away from the others in the past. Her mind drifted to where he was now and felt a pang in her stomach of mixed feelings. She hadn’t expected to fear one of her brothers but lately and after the attack she was beginning to wonder if Vaughan hadn’t turned into a monster like their father. Perhaps being in a merged coven for a while was not such a bad thing for them at all.

‘here we go, my room is opposite.” Asha pointed to her door as she stood aside two rooms on the other side of the hallway, Caine walking into the nearest room and taking a brief look around from where he stood.
“Nice...thanks Ash.” He replied as he wandered further into the room before turning to look at her as she stood in the doorway.
“i might grab a few minutes alone before the dinner if you don’t mind” he added. Asha gave her brother a small smile and nod, leaving him to it and closing the door for him. Turning from the door she sighed before heading back in the direction of the lobby to see if she could find Hope or Ajax.

She returned a smile to her sister then looked around as Hope went to speak to everyone. A very strange looking man butted in with an even stranger request and for a moment she watched him her lips pressed, he was funny but she soon forgot about that as Hope began to talk to them all with the introductions to which she smiled when mentioned.
Everyone seemed to be there and those that were not there were in the building somewhere. She did not need to see any of them to know where they were as long as they were close by. It was one of her many and various new talents she had been trying to get a grip on.
The door shut and with that everyone started to move away. Some of them looking much more worried then others.

She waited in the foyer until it had all but cleared, Roman having left to do his thing while the others went off to help.
Standing alone she listened, not to any conversations nor to anything in particular, she just took in the new sounds getting her self used to the noise that would now be an ever constant in her home.
Smiling lightly she shrugged to herself “It's not so bad” she whispered before walking to the door.

Slipping out into the garden she felt the cool earth beneath her feet and the grass between her toes as she walked towards the woods on the out skirt of their home. She wanted to pick some wild flowers and she knew she had an hour to do so.
Nothing lightened the mood more then the scent of the wild and colourful flowers that ran through the woodland floors.
She wanted to put some in the foyer, only a small amount but just enough to make sure to give a more relaxing feel when entering and exiting the coven.

H O P E . D E A T H - R E I G N
Vampire || Wraith

--- ONE HOUR LATER ---

Stepping into the kitchen, Hope applied the final garnishes to the food for those that could and would eat it. Her hair remained straight down her back but she now dressed in far more formal attire then when Ajax's coven first arrived. Her dress was simple and rather conservative by her standards. All black with long sleeves and a high slit up here leg. She wore very little jewellery except for the rings on her fingers. The ring that had been handed down to her by her mother bearing the Death family crest and the other an  antique ring that her mother was given to her by Luca. Wearing it now felt somewhat like a betrayal knowing that she had been the one to plunge a sword into his chest. Her only comfort from that whole situation was that Luca had been put out of his misery and Ru had returned to her.

Trying to drag her thoughts away from everything that had gone wrong, she tried to change them to focus on the future. She hadn't quite realised just how hard the Matashona coven had been hit until she saw just how few had returned with him. Yes their numbers were greater then her own but she never remembered a time where there was a great many Death's in her life. She had read in her grandfather's journals of a coven great in numbers and power but over time in-fighting and difficulties in leadership caused their numbers to dwindle. Now all that was left was the family her mother had desperately tried to keep together. Sighing, she wondered what her mother would think of all this if she was in her right mind and not in some run down apartment out of her mind.

Hearing movement upstairs, she glanced up at the clock. " Showtime.. " she muttered to herself as she glanced at the food in front of her. It had been some time since Hope had prepared so much food or indeed even eaten human food. The last time she had even seen this much food was probably in Jia at some sort of celebration or other.  A birthday, a holiday, the people of Jia never really needed much of a reason to celebrate. It was a different life back then and she could never have imagined that she'd be in this position. About to embark on this merger with no Mum, no Ryu, nobody. The only person she could rely on anymore was herself although so far Ajax had given her no reason to question him but she still had her reservations about him. She didn't trust easily and the fact that she allowed all these strangers under her roof felt unnatural to her but for the sake of her family and those who had just joined them, she had to put her deep rooted trust issues to one side.

Leaving the food to rest, she walked to the pantry and began filling some decanters with blood from the bags she and Knigh had managed to acquire. It was hard knowing how difficult it was to come by blood bags with Oxen Corp's grip tightening on the supply. But with an uncertain future ahead of them and a traumatic past behind them, Hope thought the least she could do as host was ensure that no one went hungry. With Lacrimosa in what she could only imagine was ruins, she wasn't sure when any of them had last eaten. Carrying a decanter in each hand she stepped out of the kitchen and headed toward the dining room that she expected to find empty. But as she stepped in she stopped momentarily at the sight of Ryu. She still had not decided on how she felt about having him in the house. Marcus was certainly glad of the company and she had to wonder if her brothers recovery had something to do with his presense in the house but for her, seeing him caused her nothing but pain.

Stepping forward she tried to act as though his presense didn't affect her although she wondered who she was trying to kid. Placing the decanters on the table, she looked over and smiled at Knigh who no doubt hated all the strange faces in the house. Walking toward him she placed her hand on his arm supportively as she passed him to get herself a drink, she was going to need it. " You guys couldn't wait to start the party huh? " she asked teasingly knowing that the three were more then likely just hiding from the rest of the world and found solace in the dining room. Pouring herself a drink she tried to enjoy a moment of peace before she would have to put on her hostess hat again and play nice. Leaning against the drinks cabinet she glanced at the men and could see Ketzu suffering with a hangover, something she would probably never experience. " How's the head? " she asked smirking knowing full well that he was in pain but she secretly appreciated the fact that despite that, he had showed up, even if he did look a little worse for wear. They all had and it was reassuring to know that for once in her life, her family hadn't let her down. Maybe there was hope for them afterall.

He had found his room with ease having remembered that Hope had offered him one before. After checking everyone had found their own he went inside and closed the door, his back pressed to it as he took a moment to himself a somewhat weary expression befalling his face as he closed his eyes, hand raising so his fingers could massage the bridge of his nose, a long steady sigh passing through barely parted lips.
Allowing himself moments to wallow were rare, yet the days had grown long in preparation for the merger and his hidden stresses and mourning had only strengthened. He was tired and he was deeply broken, the disappearance of his twin sister and Genevieve weighing upon him like an ever crushing burden. He assumed Sauri dead, feared like so many others, the same for his love but he had no time to process such things. His family needed him and that came before any emotion he felt, no matter how powerful.

Soon he pushed those thoughts away, locking them back inside his dying heart as he reminded himself just how relieved he was that they were all safe now within the house and that no threat had harmed them on the transition through Lacrimosa to the Black Woods.
The chance they had been given to merge was the strongest one there was. If they were to survive he believed this to be the way.
Relaxing he moved away from the door slipping the jacket from his shoulders to drop upon the bed as he walked through the room, without really seeing it to the bathroom to have a shower. Cleaning away the day's filth would brighten his spirits.

A short time later he exited his room, wearing one of the fitted suits Hope had chosen for him. Tight yet none restrictive, the colour a black with a lilac shirt, black tie to off set it.
Throwing in a little of his own style he walked with a slender oaken cane, a ruby at the hand. His hair tired back neatly, he had left the hat behind choosing for this meal not to shadow his face from the others.

He went from one end of the hallway to the other giving each door a quick tap with the cane to indicate that their time was up and he expected them to gather themselves ready to go down and enjoy the meal the Death Family had prepared for them.
He took pause at the top of the stairs, gazing down the walls at the portraits as he awaited the others. Once they were all to join him he gave them a slow glance before moving on in silence so they could enter the dining room.

Once all of the new joins had gone upstairs the family set to work, well he thought they did. Little did he know Destiny and Roman had both gone off all airy fairy, Ketzu was half dying of a hang over and Knigh and Ryu brooded silently in their corners of the dining room.
The fact Kenshu and Karne were also around was completely unknown to him.

Heading straight to the kitchen he pushed through the doors a feline butt the first thing he laid his eyes upon as Shade the cat chomped happily away on some shrimp starters her head pushed way down inside the glass serving dish, her tail wagging with delight after coming across such a score.
“No..Nooooooooooo” jogging over he whisked the now grumbling cat up into his arms positioning her between his ribs and his left arm while he threw away the serving she had been devouring.
“God... that's worth more then your life that is cat. She'd skin you alive” he mumbled unable to hide the cute pouty face he pulled each time he spoke to an animal.

“Escape is the only option here...” hugging the disgruntled feline to his chest once more he made a break for it taking the back door from the kitchen out into the gardens he decided to deposit the cat at the edge of the woods so she could busy herself chasing butterflies or what ever it was she did, while they could continue to deal with the dinner party at hand. “Be good.... God you're lucky” he waved the cat off as he turned to walk back inside. Had it been Hope that found her the ending to the story would have been totally different.

Again something caught his attention, a streak off white to the corner of his eye in the woods. “Hey... Oi!” he called seeing his little sister plodding around in her party dress a bunch of picked flowers within her grasp. “Stop messing around....” Destiny was all peace and love, hippy dippy but now wasn't really the time for it. He couldn't help laughing a little though.
“Get back inside before your sister notices you trudging through the woods in her dress”
Shaking his head he again went back on his way, laughing at the situations he had discovered. Hope would have thrown a fit.

Returning to the kitchen he did his best to help with what needed doing and before he knew it an hour was up, the sound of foot steps above alerting him that it was time to go into the dining room.
Hope was there sorting things out, Ketzu, Ryu, Knigh and one of the Matashina lot were already there.
“Hey party people” he smiled B-lining for the bar to have himself a shot for good old Dutch courage.

Re: Breaking Bread - ( Tag: Members of the Death & Matashina Coven )

Post by Knigh on Sun 26 Mar 2017, 22:02

Knigh stood in silence with his back to the wall he faced the rest of the room. It was habit not to leave himself blind, even when no threat hung in the air.
This was all out of his comfort zone. He did not like people, he didn't like communicating with those he did not know and above most other things he valued privacy. It was all going to be overwhelming for him.
He remembered first coming to live with the family, Cass had given him his own living quarters so he could retreat when he needed to.
He had something similar here in Death Manor though it was a lot more accessible and that frustrated him.
All of it was for good reason though so he did not complain, he would remain more then happy to grin and bare it knowing that in the long run it would help protect the family he had become a part of.

Ryu looked like the weight of the world was upon him. Knigh wondered why he hung around but e wasn't about to ask. The kid was loyal so he assumed he thought he was where he should be.
Ketzu arrived and he said not a word. His last meeting with his son and a strange female wolf had been more then strained. The last thing he wanted to do was cause a scene when the meal was of such great importance to everyone.

Just when things couldn't be more silently awkward Hope whisked in and despite her own stress and obvious discomfort she tried to break the ice for them all, he watched her as she approached him yet he didn't speak, there really was no need. She wanted to distract herself and trying to make him feel better would help her do that while she waited for everyone to arrive for dinner.

Re: Breaking Bread - ( Tag: Members of the Death & Matashina Coven )

Post by Enya M on Mon 27 Mar 2017, 01:41

Being alone in her room, picturing her things all over the place was helping with the flutters inside her stomach, but she was wasting time and needed to shower.

Toweling off her hair She hung it up on the rack crossing the floor to get the only other dress she brought with her. It was simple knee length green colored gown. She could have gone with yet another black dress, but this wasn't a funeral. Hopefully the dress wouldn't upset anyone, she hoped the opposite would happen. She, a performer, was nervous and feeling out of sorts, but she realized at least some of the others might be feeling this way too. This was to be a celebration.

The green dress fell to knee length, sleeveless. Her makeup, light again, not really liking the stuff. In her acts her tattoos/birthmarks. Were hidden behind tight fitted suits and gobs of makeup, but She enjoyed what she did.

If these people we're to get to know her, they would see all that she was, tats and all, the one on her cheek and her right sleeve completely covered.

She hoped with a bit of food and spirits the fluttering nerves would go away, until then, she'd fake it.

She was finishing up her pep talk when a knock sounded at her door. It was that time? Already? Breathing in she slowly breathed out and opened it...

Oh! Wow, brother, you clean up nicely.

She smiled at him, the only perso. Whom she felt at ease with. If she needed to do anything with her looks, he would tell her knowing She didn't need to add more fuel to the fire with Ajax. Another concern to add to the fluttering in her stomach.

Skymere entered the dining area to find some unfamiliar faces. He cringed inwardly, but luckily for him, only one seemed to be a talker, the other two men, one he knew as Ryu, and the other a rather large dredlocked male, were quiet and brooding, just how he liked people. Sky breathe in deeply before he took his seat. He cricked his neck and glanced around until settling on a spot looking out of the window.
Ajax had trusted Sky for a long time now, and he knew Hope, but the fact was that without Shoebox around to supress some of Sky's power, Sky was not safe to be around, for any of them. He had to wonder if his being here would be a positive thing or a hindrance to them all.

With his more depressing thoughts, Hope came in looking beautiful as ever, he noted her awkwardness when she looked at Ryu but quickly averted his eyes from them both. Standing he smiled to Hope pretending not to have noticed and gave her a little gentlemanly bow. He could sense her nerves, but he knew she would do well today.

People seemed to get themselves settled, he could hear all of the chatter through the manor, he found it a little uncomfortable, going from the noise of Jia, to the quiet manor and now it was full with all manner of people. He found himself having to try and adjust again.
About an hour had passed and people started to make their way to the dining area. Ryu sighed inwardly to himself, feeling completely out of place here. A few people sat, new and old and Ryu nodded in greeting to them, lifting up his gaze as Hope walked in, awkwardly looking at him a moment before going back to ignoring his existence. He looked away and down, standing behind the chair he chose to sit at, next to Knigh as he knew neither of them would talk that much.

Ryu straightened up his suit jacket and coughed a little to himself, looking over at Hope, ''You look beautiful. You've got this.'' He offered a small, warm smile. If he didn't break the silence between them then he knew it would not be broken, knowing how stubborn she was. If she chose to ignore him then so be it, but he thought he would say something now rather than in front of everyone and potentially make everything awkward as fuck.

Ketzu didn't really acknowledge Knigh other than a small nod. He would not bring any drama into this meet and greet and merger, whatever it was. He glanced at his father a moment, damn he was starting to look old, before looking away and back to the ceiling. Even though things were shit between the father and son, Ketzu would do anything for him at the same time, although he wasn't going to let his father in on that knowledge. Damn, this hangover was making him all family orientated. Ketzu shook his head rapidly to himself rubbing his eye's with a groan, ''Ahh, I'm fucking hungry. Let's hurry this shit up.'' He pronounced to himself.

Other people started to arrive after having chosen their rooms for the foreseeable future. He sat up as they entered, smiling at Hope and pretending not to notice her tension towards Ryu as everyone else seemed to pretend not to see as well. Hopefully pretending would mean it wasn't real... Ketzu rolled his eyes briefly, relationship drama not being his thing.

''Hurts.'' He smirked and raised a brown at Hope, ''You should feel privileged that I turned up to this in my current condition.'' He laughed, ''It will be a miracle if I manage not to spew before the end of it.'' He joked, knowing again, that she would attempt to kill him if he embarrassed her. Of course, he would be on his very best behaviour tonight, if that was even possible.

He smoothed down his shirt as he awaited his sister his expression cool and collected as she opened the door wearing striking green dress that off set her hair and eyes. She would make an entrance that was for sure.
She commented upon his look and he gave her a crooked grin with a shrug “Eh this old thing..” he laughed, he was used to being suited and booted. It was part of his old job after all.
He stepped aside so she could come out of the room and then he offered his arm out to her so she could link it through his. They would present a united front to their new family but also to Ajax who was doing his best at hiding his anger towards them.
“You look great, very Poison Ivy from Batman like” he smirked as he led her down the hall to where Ajax stood at the top of the stairs having passed them by earlier.

“Now be a good girl and make sure you don't burn the place down” he whispered into her ear hiding a laugh as he straightened up “And I promise I won't throw a tantrum during dinner” they were the eternal naughty children. No matter what they had done and had achieved during their very long lives he knew they often got under their Sire's skin. Not that he would want it any other way.

“Hello Boss man” he smiled pretending everything was peachy keen as they arrived to wait for the others before they went down stairs.
“You are looking rather dapper tonight I must say” he chuckled poking a little fun. Ajax often dressed like he was a fossil, he wondered where he had even been hiding such a suit.
“Grub smells nice”

Re: Breaking Bread - ( Tag: Members of the Death & Matashina Coven )

Post by Karne Reign on Tue 28 Mar 2017, 06:30

Most of these people were complete strangers to him, names with faces that he didn't recognize nor had cared to talk to in the past. While this might sound negative, it was quite the opposite, better he be here meeting new people than seeing old foes that he'd fought and bloodied in the past. Karne was quietly thankful that he'd never pursued Hope into the Matashina Coven, he might have had a different story to play out this eve.

Showered, and soon dressed, he found his old attire with the rest of his things within the old office that was his fathers, the wardrobe of some of his belongings hung up on coathangers, likely Hope trying to rid the last of his things from the wardrobe of what was now her main bedroom, things that Karne had missed when trying to clear it out in the attempt to rid himself of the memories that came with this place. Black jeans, a regular cut. A black singlet that clung tightly to his torso dwarfed by the leather jacket that closed across the front by five different platinum buckles. Pulling on his black boots, he finally slumped into the office chair, turning it to face side on to the window, his eyes looking down over the front of the Covenant grounds.

Was this even his home anymore. His children lived here, it was the best security they had yet Karne had spent half his life trying to undermine it, the other half trying to do right by it after killing the former leader; his father. He had come to a place in himself that change had become a nessecesity, though the twins had struggled to accept that and rightly so, they knew so little of him and though he tried, letting others in wasn't a strong point of the men in their legacy.

He soon found himself arguing inside with whether or not he might actually go back downstairs at all. He had come this far and left Cassandra for a small period on her own, he had willed himself to be here for Hope and Marcus' sake yet they didn't need him and nor did any of those within the first floor. He was a relic, washed out and old; more significantly was his inability to smile through his teeth when it all brought him such shame. Being here celebrating the union of the two houses felt like he too would be celebrating the end of the line, his potential to surpassing his fathers lead. Plague, Xaphan and the war with the humans had gotten in the way of his ambitions, had muddied the waters until his reflection had dirtied and he had no longer recognized himself as the person he thought himself to be.

By this point none of it really mattered outside of his own pride and like of self, Karne had come this far only to find himself slumped in the black leather chair that had been his fathers, a cigarette in one hand and a glass of whiskey in the other as the minutes passed him by like seconds and he could no longer define the hours of each day. His gaze had drawn distant though he had only sipped the glass the once, he lost himself in his thoughts which seemed to come to him far more often of late, contemplating the chaos of everything. Arcane and it's insatiable history of war and bloodshed against the Immortals. Ox Corp hadn't been the first, it had started with the Vampires killing the lycan, then turning on their own kind while the other Immortal races scurried to gnaw out the remains; finally the humans had had enough and took up arms against them and that's what had brought it all down to this day, that and those fucking demonic cunts that still made Karne's blood boil beyond reason.

All these things contributed to the end-game, the conclusion in Karne's head that finally, against so many others trying to tell him better, he accepted the fact that this place would never allow their people to live in relative peace. They would go around in circles trying, until every last one of them either died or had the stomach to pack their shit up and leave.

Perhaps that was what the supposed brothers and sisters of KnOT Death had decided to do, perhaps they'd wisened up before he had brought them all crashing down with him.

Karne had instead passed everything on to Hope, through a third party yet none the less, put the Covenants future in his daughters hands least he bring them all down, too.

Re: Breaking Bread - ( Tag: Members of the Death & Matashina Coven )

Post by Kenshu Death on Tue 28 Mar 2017, 09:58

Karne seemed shocked to see her as he stumbled about to face her, her name spoken I a surprised fashion which she ignored.
She had been back a fortnight but had been keeping to herself, only the twins really aware of her lurking around. Things were no longer easy as they had been for her the last time Karne had lain eyes upon her. Plague was gone and with that the barrier that he had placed upon her for protection. Of course she had her own, but they had never been good enough. She had been pulled back into her old world, hazed and disorientated by the screaming.
This time how ever she had managed for the most part to keep a grip upon her sanity, at least for now. The family was in trouble, big changes were afoot and if she was ever needed the time was now.

He smiled a smile of goofy youth as he looked down and away for her before his eyes found hers again. She smiled back knowing that these expressions he had given were for her and her alone. She knew a side of Karne unlike any other and she never intended on leaving him, even if the things he did went against her own beliefs. She had never left KnOT either, not forever at least.

He didn't argue with her, she didn't expect he would. The scent upon him would have only caused hysteria amongst the children and now really was not the time. She had not known Cass lived but that was something to deal with another time.

In true Karne fashion he took control of the situation with a demand like request for her to stick around and with that he left her to stand alone in thought for a while a slight smile upon her lips before she too moved off through the house.
It was time to get dressed and present herself as a vampire fit to carry Death Bloodlines.

Once an hour had passed she went in search of her nephew, she knew he would most likely have lost track of times. His nerves were something he liked to hide but something she knew often ruled his decisions and actions.
Pushing his door open without so much as a tap she leaned her arm against the door frame, her white summer floating around her, her hair hung loose and laced with weed's flower, her feet bare. Her usual earth mother appearance unaltered though tided up ready for dinner.
“Walk me down, We will go in together”
She waited a moment before moving into the hallway, expecting him to follow without hesitation.

He found himself a small room just a few doors away from Skymere and it suited him fine, It was not huge but it was big enough. The Djinn seldom settled anywhere so was used to travelling light and catching rest where ever he could. Any bedroom would have been a luxury for him.

With Sky Gone he dressed and went wondering around the hall ways stopping to gaze upon any pictures or ornaments he came across. With eyes like saucers he took it all in, wanting to know every inch of the place he was now being expected to call home.

Others had faced this with nerves or even annoyance. He had been excited it was a new chapter and there were new people to meet. He didn't even care if they didn't want to meet him in return.

Finding Ajax and the others he followed on behind. This time being quiet for the sake of the coven master as they entered the dining room.
Giving a little nod to the group he went over to the grumpy as ever looking Skymere where he decided to sit next to his friend.
"Hello... I'm excited.... are you excited?" he nudged Skymere's shoulder. "Bet you can barely contain yourself...I know how you like to wear your heart on your sleeve" he laughed quietly. "Keep calm"

R O M A N
Vampire

The house had a different air about it now it was full. Despite the anxiety in the air, the house suddenly seemed less like a museum and more like a home. Roman was a relatively new addition to the house and had never been around in the days when the house would of been full of vampires. It was rather refreshing to see new faces. Life in Death Manor had become stale, no longer about living but only surviving. He couldn't speak for those actually in the family but he was looking forward to some fresh personalities and conversation not to mention the added protection provided. With Destiny's return to the home he had found himself more concerned not only for his safety but everyone's. Destiny, although not a threat herself, her presense in the home made them a target and no one knew the extinct of Cass's charms on the home.

As he buttoned up the crisp white shirt, he left the top two buttons open. He did not want to be so formal on his first night with the new guests. Hearing the tap of the cane on the stairs, he assumed that the others were gathering on the stairs as Ajax was summoning them. It had been some time since that level of authority had been in this house. Hope had been trying and her job was made easier by the fact she was dealing with people who loved her. Dealing with people who were virtual strangers would pose a new challenge, a challenge he doubted she was capable of meeting. But he would keep his reservations to himself. The siblings had exceeded his expectations thus far, especially Destiny. He hoped that trend would continue.

Walking across his room, he picked up the navy jacket and put it on. Ensuring no lent or dust was visible he placed a red handkerchief in the front pocket. Hearing something outside he glanced out his window and smiled. Destiny was outside picking flowers seemingly without a care in the world. It still bewildered him how a creature like Plague was a part of Destiny. He questioned how she had managed to flourish with all of the odds stack against her and yet there she was, picking flowers as though the world wasn't falling down around them. Watching her until she disappeared from sight, we would wait for the new arrivals to make their way downstairs before joining them down stairs. He did not want to add to their anxiety or apprehensions by joining them before they were ready. Besides, he liked to make an entrance.

He jumped slightly at the sound of the cane tapping at the door, reminding him that it was, evidently, now time for dinner. He considered for a few moments, then, realizing he had nothing to wear except the clothing upon his back, which, was mildly ragged from wear and use. He straightened his outfit up as much as he could, but, it still looked kind of pitiful. Shrugging, as it was all he really owned, he opened the door, and made his way towards the central dining room, knowing his outfit would show like a sore thumb compared to those of the others in the house.

He reached the top of the stairs leading towards the dining room, and paused, his nerves forcing their way to the forefront. Crazul knew that Ajax was down there, so, pushing his nervousness to the side, a difficulty for him, he descended the stairs.

Asha/Caine/Nathaniel

The hour before dinner felt like several to Caine who had gladly accepted the alone time in his newly assigned room. It was the only place where he felt he could drop the act of appearing fine and only minutes after his sister had left him to his own devices Caine locked himself in the ensuit and stood under the shower. He couldn’t ignore the swell of emotions which plagued him when Sauri came to the forefront of his mind. It wasn’t long until he allowed himself a period of grace, where tears of grief overcame him. Steam rose in wisps from his skin as the hot water hit his back, slouched and weary. He had never been with any other woman who had not only broken him out of his bachelor lifestyle or had him settling down and wanting his own children. But as much as he had never expected that for him now he had to face the fact that it was being torn away and there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it. It was agonisingly painful to know that when he needed his siblings the most, all but Asha had either been there or paid enough attention to understand what was going on. Then again, he and Ajax had barely spoken to each other on the topic let alone with anyone else due to the ongoing struggles of the covens.

By the time Caine had managed to gain composure it wasn’t long until he would be required to attend the dinner. Exhausted he towelled himself dry, wrapping the towel around his waist as he walked out to where he had left his dinner suit laid out on his bed. He left his keys and wallet on the bed, dropping the towel and dressing back into the suit before picking up his watch and slipping it onto his wrist. Taking the tie he pulled the slim fabric around his collar, tying the tie and adjusting his garments to ensure he was of suitable appearance. All he wanted to do was chase leads and start searching but he had given a promise he was not about to break. He soon stood at the end of his bed staring into the distance as his mind ran rampant until the solid thwack on the other side of the door signalled his order to attend dinner.

-

It wasn’t too suprising for Asha to find that she was unable to locate either Hope or Ajax, eventually ceasing in her attempt to track them down and resigning herself to the library where she hoped she could find something which would help give her ideas on how to save her brother. She wondered if Romal had gotten any further than her until she thought about the fact that he wasn’t here either. Where was he?

A creek of the floorboards had disturbed her thoughts and suddenly Asha peered to the door with the expectation of someone walking in, perhaps scolding her for being somewhere she probably shouldn’t be. She was selfish she thought to herself, just bluntly helping herself in this place looking for answers she expected to have sooner rather than later and while this was going on she had been only half present with the issue of the coven merger. She felt a pang of guilt as her hands dropped from a shelf and shaking her head in silent disgust of herself she left the library. Perhaps it was better to be present she had told herself and with that she had travelled down the long corridors until at last she came upon the dining room, slipping in quietly and giving those already present a small wave. Pulling a chair out near the left end of the table she gathered her dress so it wouldn’t tear and took a seat.

-

By the time Caine entered the dining room, most of the others were already there and seated, immediately drawing his gaze over the room as his vision flicked flashes of detail, picking up on each person present until he spotted Asha already seated to the left. He smiled momentarily until the realisation that Nathaniel was missing prompted a subtle glower. It was not at all surprising to him but for once he wished Nate might actually do what he had been told to do. Walking around to take a seat next to Asha he pulled his chair in, remaining quiet for the time being with the threat of blindly yelling at his brother as soon as he graced them with his presence or demanding Ajax to order a search for Sauri bubbling just beneath the surface.
-

“He fakes left, then right and oh ...no .......he’s....yes.... yes....touchdown!” Nathaniel tossed a crunched up piece of paper he had found laying near a bin in Lita’s old room into the basket, making pretend celebratory poses as he jogged out of the room and into the hallway. He had to admit being back at the Death manor was nice, reminding him of good memories between the times where things had gone to shit. But that always seemed to be the curse of his family. A changed family now he had thought to himself as he wandered the halls, stopping past Kenshu’s room only to find she was out also. All of his other siblings had changed and not necessarily for the better or in a more fun way. But Nathaniel figured he was the stable brother, after all he had always remained the same. Why everyone always had to wear their cranky pants he didn’t know nor care for and lately even old party boy Caine had started to piss him off with his ‘do this’ and ‘do that’ demeanour.
“ahh the price of being whipped,” Nathaniel murmured to himself as he walked through the coven and out into the grounds for a few minutes of air and scenic delight. The gardens were still pretty nice and even though there were more strangers there than Death family members Nathaniel was happy to see that the manor still stood with that familiar authority. Ducking across the garden to a cluster of trees he stopped out of view to take a leak before rearranging his suit and loosening his tie just a little more.

It was pretty much dead on time when Nathaniel unceremoniously bustled through the doors into the dining room, a ridiculous grin on his face at the sight of Caine’s glare and Asha looking somewhat relieved to see he had shown his face. His excuse simply put was that he had made it and if anyone had something to say he would throw Romal and Vaughan under the bus despite whatever perfectly reasonable reasons they had. Shuffling past his siblings he slapped Caine on the back of his shoulder as Caine grumbled under his breath. He ignored the response, stopping to plant a brotherly kiss on the top of Asha’s head before pulling the chair out beside her and sitting down.
“what did i miss?” he asked, picking up Asha’s poured glass and taking a sip as she looked at him and shook her head.
“nothing and don’t drink it all, get your own” Asha responded, Caine looking the other way to tame his temper.

She had started a little humming as she milled around through the flowers picking only the most beautiful of weeds she had come across until she had what she considered to be the perfect bouquet. Blues, yellows, whites and pinks. She gathered them together drawing them up towards her face as her eye closed, her chest rising as she inhaled them deeply, enjoying them.
Marcus called to her, snapping her out of her peaceful flower sniffing ways, he scolded her but could not hide the smile or the laughter from her. She waved over and nodded her fingers curling as she lowered her hand away back to the flowers picking one out to twine through her hair as she started a slow walk back towards the house. There was still time, no matter how much stress Marcus seemed to think they should be in. He was right though, Hope probably would have been irritated that she had been wondering about in the grass.
Entering the house from the front after having looped back around she picked a vase up from one of the tables placing her flowers within it, topping them up with a jug of water as she arranged them, a smile on her face as she looked upon them, feeling that they lightened the place up the instant she had finished fluffing them out “There, Lovely” she smiled chewing her lip as a little flutter of nerves woke up within the pit of her stomach. Time was up, she had to join the others.
Walking back through the house she opened the door to the dining room, walking in as low key as she could while she gave each person that looked her way a little smile. Glancing up she made her way to the front of the table knowing her siblings would probably expect her to sit there with them. She stopped close to where Hope would be, but also next to Roman as she glanced at him with a shy smile before pulling her chair out.
“Hey”
