ASPEN

Mismatched eyes looked around the open field, locking on to the doe standing off into the distance. She had wandered into this area that was filled with game to freely hunt and had little human traffic. It was here that Aspen decided to hide out, taking refuge in an old hunting cabin set deep in the woods. The rumble deep within her stomach made her antsy as she slowly crept toward the creature before her, staying silent as she moved. Slowly, her body tensed and coiled just a second before she shot off like a bullet from a gun. The doe was grabbed, incapacitated and its neck snapped before the creature had time to see its death coming. A satisfied smile formed on pink lips as fangs lengthened in anticipation to her meal.

Dragging the deer back to the cabin she slowly took bites as she drained the blood drink by drink. The vampire in her wanted to drain the creature of every last drop but the wolf howled to rip the flesh from bone. She sighed a she had her normal inner debate, deciding on which half she would indulge for the evening. Once outside the cabin she took a seat on a fallen stump near a fire pit, pulling the carcass to her mouth she now drank eagerly. Blood trickled down her chin as she pulled back, wiping the excess away with the back of her hand and licking it off. Looking at the animal before her she produced a knife from her boot pocket. The thirst was quenched enough to allow her to leave some blood in the body, leaving the meat still appealing. With precise strokes she cut into the skin, peeling away the fur and quartering the meat. She took the time to salt and spice meat to dehydrate and used the rest to cook on the fire. This deer would provide her meat for a while and she could reduce the time she spend out in the open.

Once she had finished prepping and eating her meal she sat by the fire, enjoying the cool night air. Flames danced off mismatched eyes as she pondered her life, wishing she still sat around the fire with her family. Looking up, the moon hung almost full in the night sky making the wolf sing in her veins. Tomorrow it would be full and she would be unable to change from her wolf form, Making her a target for the infamous Oxen Corp.

The wilderness offered Coran the quiet he had been seeking. The answers he had wanted were empty, the questions were twisted within his head a heavy weight on him dragging him down again. The Death family, they were a plight upon him. Where he had once loved them, been a part of their family he was starting to loathe them. Or at least loathe the way they always made him feel.
This current torment had him nearly missing the predictable tortures that hell and Mayhem had been offering him for the last 25 years before life had been returned to him.
Hope had filled his head with more painful information, blow after blow of it without an ounce of compassion. KnOT even managing to hurt him even now.

He had returned to his home. Saint Stand. Even though that in itself was no longer his home. His father and mother and brother were gone. Rucka no longer ruling the city. He was alone, he was lost. Though he would never admit it. His pain lost behind laughter and empty relationships.

He had been bouncing from club to club, drinking, dancing, shagging, ever since his visit to the Black Woods but nothing had eased the discomfort he felt. No answers awaited in in the breast of an eager to please woman, nor did they wait at the bottom of a bottle.

Tonight had been like no other. He had partied until the room span, his eyes a blur, coherence and coordination long ago lost to the poison he had consumed for hours upon hours. Yet there it still was, that pain that seemed so deep within his soul that he actually thought it was now all that defined him.

He had stumbled into the streets and found them bearing down upon him. The buildings crushing him, the sounds deafening him and he had fled in that moment to the only place he knew to be quiet.
The woods were cold, they were dark and they were vapid. He plodded through them fighting back tears which threatened him for the first time in centuries. How easy death had been in comparison to life, how he began to long for it.

ASPEN

The night air was crisp as she lounged lazily by the fire, the sounds of crickets chirping and frogs croaking at a nearby pond made a symphony that she often found herself entranced by. Solitude was something Aspen cherished, it was her only companion for some years but just like any good companion, every once in a while it showed another side. On a rare occasion the silence was a stern reminder of the family she once had and lost and tonight was one of those nights.

Normally she hid the wolf in her, the area wasn't exactly a haven for her kind and she preferred to avoid confrontation but tonight she made an exception. Shifting was second nature, a snow white wolf sitting where the vampire once did. The same mismatched eyes scanned the forest before breaking out into a run, muzzle open in a wolfy smile as the animal in her relished the feel of dirt beneath paws. The deeper she ran into the woods the less she paid attention, adrenaline pumping through her veins as she dodged and weaved through the trees and brush.

It wasn't until the pungent smell of alcohol crossed the path that she ran, catching her attention as she slowed to a jog and circled back around to the spot. The smell of liquor caused her to scrunch her nose, jerking her head back in repulsion to the strength of the stench. Eats twitched as she listened off into the darkness of the woods, senses on high alert. Eyes narrowed as she tracked the scent, giving the trail a wide girth as she cautiously investigated whomever wandered this far into the woods. She had already decided it was easier to kill anyone who could possibly stumble across her camp then run the risk of someone sneaking up on her.

She only tracked the smell for a short while before a figure could be seen in the distance. Aspen crouched her body closer to the ground, hiding behind the brush as she flanked the figure. The stench of alcohol almost masking the underlying smell of male, closing in as she sized him up. She had brought herself within a yard of the male, body tense as she prepared for anything. Her luck however, was never on her side. Her attention to the person in front of her and curiosity as to why someone else would be this far into the woods caused her to misstep, a twig snapping beneath her feet. "Shit.."

He had not been in the right state of mind to watch his back, the thought of being vigilant had not even surfaced within his substance riddled brain so he had not noticed the form approaching from behind him. The process of walking in a some what straight line taking u most of his concentration as even in his drunken state he fought to remain level headed and ignorant of the emotion which so badly wanted out.

The wind was whipping up in a gradual way, the force of it starting to ruffle his clothing, chilling the flesh enough to rise a slight terrain of goose bumps over any exposed flesh.
His hair frenzied around his faces at times blocking his vision causing him to slow to remove strands from his eyes. All the while his stalker growing closer up until the point she was well within striking distance.

It was ironic really. He had spent the last few nights treating women in the same way. Spotting one that caught his interest he would approach, a hidden predator though of course he would have been in plain sight to them all the while, a mask of kindness well presented to the unsuspecting victims.

Pausing he swayed his head tilting "Huh.." it had been silent other then the breeze but he swore something just moved behind him, a sound that he had not fully been aware of caught his attention and suddenly it seemed all to possible that he was not as alone as he had thought. Not that in the state he was in he cared in the slightest.

Turning around slowly he twisted his form to face the one crouched in what could have either been a defensive or offensive position. Another 'Huh' left his lips as he looked upon what could either be salvation or a temporary annoyance to his unravelling.

The wolf looked as frightening as any of her kind. He didn't doubt that should she want to the one before her could inflict grievous damage yet he didn't so much as move to defend himself or back away from the creature. After all she had followed him, she had put herself in his space, not the other way around. Even drunk he could see no reason for her to come so close to him unless she was in a way hunting him.

Spreading his arms out from his side until they were both outstretched he opened his vital organs up for attack, making himself as vulnerable to this predator as he knew how.

ASPEN

Aspen was prepared to attack the intoxicated man before her, she knew he had done her no wrong or harm but the chance that he could expose her was a chance she didn't want to take. It had been a couple months since the last person to stumble into her path, vivid memories of looking down the barrel of a gun of the unfortunate hunter who crossed her path. That was the last time she had drank something other then animal blood and the thought was tempting.

As the male turned on her she paused and cocked her head to the side at his actions. "What the hell..is he stupid?" she thought, a huff coming from her muzzle. She was taken off guard and felt a sense of remorse for a brief moment, this man had no will to live? Or did he think her weak and nonthreatening. Whichever the reason, Aspen was thrown off her attack for the moment. "Whats wrong with you?" she moved to say, however her words came as a series of grumbles causing her to growl at herself in frustration. It was something that Aspen tended to forget about since she rarely had anyone to hold conversation with. Sighing, she willed the change back.

Aspen looked at the stranger with a range of emotions crossing her features, confusion, annoyance and interest all playing behind mismatched eyes. For a moment words escaped her and she stood there trying to get a read on the drunk man who stumbled through the woods this late at night. "Who just opens themselves up to an attack from a wild animal!?" She asked, her head shaking in confusion while she looked at him like you would a petulant child.

Ketzu had been out on a no kill job, just capture, a woman, a thief who had been taking from the rich and poor alike in saints. He had managed to tail her to a club, he had watched and waited patiently, laughing to himself at her thievery skills, she lifted nearly all of them in there. It was quite impressive. This job was piss easy with big pay, so he figured he would take it easy and simply marvel at the woman's antics before he kidnapped her.

She seemed to taking a liking to a particularly drunk man who then proceeded to taking her out to an alley for a bit of fun. Ketzu laughed and shook his head to himself, he would rather not watch that business. She was soon to come back in without the man and he decided now was the time. Ketzu made his move acting ridiculously drunk and infatuated with her, she was quick to take the bate and quick to follow as he lead her out of the club.

It didn't take long for Ketzu to grab and bag her and bring her to her new captives. Ketzu being who he was decided to take what she had took from others this night, a lot of money, a few pieces of jewellery which was no use to him so he left and a set of keys. Ketzu waited for the men to wire the money over to his bank and when his phone clicked notifying him of this, he left her in their care.

Ketzu jangled the keys in his hand, wondering if they belonged to some flash car somewhere in the vicinity, but nothing. He turned them over in his hand and saw a key ring of a photograph, a man who looked a lot like the man that had his fun time in the alley. ''Hmm.'' He said, it looked like it had some sort of sentimental value and Ketzu being in a particularly  good mood figured he should return it.

-------

Ketzu laughed hard and showed himself to the two facing off with each other, ''Seriously? If you were going to attack him, that was pretty poor as attacks go, and there are better ways to die pal.'' He said looking between the two.
It hadn't taken Ketzu long to find the man the keys belonged to, his scent was pretty strong considering the amount of alcohol in him currently. When he did he sat back and watched as the predator hunted her drunk prey. ''Oh, my bad, I should introduce myself.'' He said with an apologetic hand to his chest, stepping closer to the pair. ''You, that girl you had a bit of fun time with back at the club, she lifted you. Missing anything?'' He asked, waiting to see the mans reaction to his missing photo meant this was worth Ketzu's effort. Ketzu side glanced at the female, there was something odd yet familiar about her that he couldn't quite put his finger on.

Re: New Lands

He stood there and waited, his facial features relaxed and appearing some what uninterested in the whole thing. She either killed him then and there or she left him to suffer, either way it would fucking hurt.
She paused, looking a him with a confused and startled look upon her face and he sighed wiggling his fingers in some what of an invite for her but no, he wouldn't be so lucky she just stood there growling and yapping at him like some junk yard dog.
Pressing his lips together he for a moment considered moving to attack her simply so that she would fight back. He would make that fight easy and then that way she could kill him but he decided against it, after all other then stalking him she hadn't done anything to merit him hurting her.

He stood in the same formation as she shifted into a human form, standing in front of him, much less threatening and much less deadly. With a roll of his eyes he dropped his arms a small chuckle shaking his shoulders as he clucked his tongue against his teeth. “Fool” he muttered to himself half ignoring the bewildered woman in front of him, at least until she spoke.

Her question made his chuckle return this time out loud for her to hear. At the same time he noted the approach of another. Again he did not care, he made no move to defend himself or defend the woman who stood distracted and bemused by him.
His hand moved slowly until he jabbed his thumb against his chest looking rather amused with himself the pain shallowed back down out of view. It was a talent of his, he could be having a nervous break down yet no one would know, he was the master of 'masks'

The thumb still against his chest he stopped with the laughter aware it made him look insane. “This guy does... have to keep things interesting, you know?”

By now the new join had started to show himself walking over with a light hearted attitude and throw away comments. “Eh I could think of worse ways” he replied though did not explain or defend his choice of actions to either of them, it would change nothing so he saw it pointless.
There was a brief introduction from the male but he didn't really care to pay all that much attention, not until he spoke of him losing something.

Checking himself over he soon realized what this 'Ketzu' was on about. His expression and his posture changed in an instant. Even drunk he managed to carry it off “Keys. The bitch took my keys” he replied hoping this boy had them and wasn't dicking around with him.

Brows raised as she watched this stranger chuckle at her, her head shaking softly while eyes narrowed. "No, I'm no fool." she replied while taking a step forward. She was a fast strike, this could be over in a matter of seconds and she could return to her run and her solitude. He seemed to have a death wish tonight though she wasn't sure if it was the alcohol talking, remembering a drunken depression or two throughout her life. Maybe that's why she hesitated instead of killing him from behind before he seen it coming.

She was beginning to eye him warily, off put by his laughing and actions. She felt as if she didn't know how to react to this man, her social skills lacking. "I mean, if you want to die..." she began before trailing off, the sound of footsteps joining them. A soft growl was heard as Aspen side stepped to look at the new arrival, jaw clenching as she looked between the men. Now, not only one but two people had gotten this close to her camp and while she felt she could best the drunk one on one, she didn't think she could take two. What had she gotten herself into.

She honed in on the newcomer for a moment, "If I would have attacked him he'd be dead and we wouldn't be having this conversation." she retorted back, now seriously regretting her lack of judgement.  While he offered an introduction she remained silent, offering nothing in terms of information of herself. She wasn't from here, merely seeking refuge that new lands offered until she could find a permanent home. Luckily, after his introduction he turned his attention to returning some lost goods though the story of how it happened was funny in itself, earning a brief and silent chuckle. The drunk males reaction to the realization to his lost keys was even better. This is what she missed about companions, thinking of long nights sitting by the hearth laughing with her siblings and parents.

Aspen's attention was being evenly distributed between the two men as she now found herself lingering around much longer then she actually should. Catching Ketzu's side glance, blatantly meeting his eyes with a bemused look. The wind picked up slightly, an instinctive deep inhale took in both scents of the men and neither of them smelled human. The chances they were tied to the wolf hunting Oxen Corp would be slim as its soldiers all seemed human but she wasn't sure who would be a worse enemy should it come to it. "You tracked him all the way out here to return keys?" she asked, thinking that was awfully nice of a stranger.

''Oooo,'' Ketzu smiled at the female as she sounded so confident in herself, ''If you say so love'' He said, knowing calling her love would probably piss her off. Though, she would have killed him easily, he didn't exactly look like he was going to defend himself, maybe he was too drunk or simply had a death wish, Ketzu didn't really care however. Ketzu watched with amusement as the guy realised what he was on about. He crossed his arms and jangled the key ring loop in this finger, ''Yea, your keys man. I was hoping you has a nice car, but well...'' He said with a shrug. He turned to the woman as she questioned him, ''Yep, I can be nice.... sometimes.'' He said with a sideways smile.

Ketzu sighed as he was growing bored already, ''How much are these worth to you then?'' He asked the male, clearly not giving his keys back to him for nothing. He was talking more about the photograph more than the keys themselves.

His annoyance that he had lost his key to some ten minute whore was obvious for the two of them to see, he didn't try to hide it not that he would have been able to anyway considering the amount of alcohol he had consumed.
He didn't give a damn about the keys when it all came down to it.
He could get a spare for the motel he was staying in and worse came to worse he knew how to hot wire cars though he would have rather not yanked the covers off his own. The key ring was another matter entirely.

As they jangled in front of him he looked at this Ketzu his eyes narrowing. He would have simply handed them across were there no catch but no he held them in front like a prize that would have to be won.

He went from telling the woman he could be nice to demanding something for their return in the form of asking their worth.
Eyeing the picture of the dark haired boy as it swung about in the keyring he shook his head drunken despair turning to anger as his body took on a different posture. The submissive and open posture hardening into a more alert and assertive one as blood shot eyes rose to look at the smirking hybrid before him.
He knew exactly what he looked at when he looked at them both, he was one himself only he was of different ilk.

He was out numbered. The male and the female were the same species it only made sense that they would stick together should it come down to it.
He was silent for a while deciding he wasn't in any state to fight for them, not that losing would have bothered him that much. Dead he would not have to worry about the picture, dead he would see the real thing.

"I have nothing to offer you of any worth" he replied his tone much less whimsical then it had been before.
"All my cash went on drink tonight. Keep the keys, keep the car the keys fit I don't give a fuck. Give me the keyring"

ASPEN

(Sorry, was stuck on double shifts at work while one of the other supervisors was on vacay.)
Aspen took a subconscious step back, eyeing the male who introduced himself as Ketzu wairly. Something about the air around him was off-putting and the way he ended with "sometimes" caused her brows to raise slightly. All she could do was shake her head as the intoxicated mans personal items were held for ransom. "Yea, real nice..." she murmered under her breath as her gaze slipped to the other male who looked clearly aggitated.

She noted the change in stature as he seemed to sober up, akwnowledging that he had nothing of value to trade for his personal items. "Thats low..." she said, glancing sideways at Ketzu. She felt bad for the drunken man who had wandered into the woods this night, his luck just didnt seem like it was on his side, maybe thats why he seemed to have a death wish. His attention was locked on the keychain as she followed his gaze, seeing a small picture inside she instantly understood his need to regain his lost items.

Her mind began to ponder her options, ranging from making a snatch at the keychain or bartering with the few items she had collected over the years that might possibly be of some worth. Hell, she could even let the two of them fight it out over the keychain and she could disappear. With a sigh, she glanced between the two, waiting to see what would happen.

Ketzu watched the man curiously as he went from tired drunk to agitated drunk, to defeated drunk. It was rather amusing to watch, but the means in which caused him to go through the little bipolar moment was a bit of a jerk move from Ketzu. He was just curious if the keychain meant anything to the man, and it obviously did.

The woman stood there in silence, beside her little mutterings, which Ketzu heard all well and clear. Ketzu took in a deep breath and shook his head to himself, ''Hey man, I don't want anything.'' He said, walking to the male and holding his hand out, palm up, to offer the guy back his shit. ''Next time you want to get laid, don't go there.'' He said with a small smile, ''Bunch of prostitutes and thieves there.''

After/if the man took back his keys, Ketzu took a step back and placed his hands in his pockets, ''Well, that's my good deed for the day.'' He said, turning to walk back, walking closer to the woman that he had done before. He met her eyes as he walked past, inhaling her scent and then he paused. She smelt like him. The pause was brief but obvious before he continued on his way.

While his mind fought to catch up with itself he watched the younger male. It may have just been a ket ring to them but he would more then happily kill someone over it.
Luckily for them all no such violence had to happen as Ketzu gave up obviously seeing Coran's ill concealed pain when it came to the item.
His hand held out and Coran stepped forward to meet him, taking the keys from him before stepping backwards his gaze upon his brother's photo as Ketzu tried to lighten it up a bit with comments about Coran's choice of nightly activities.
He nodded, not really paying any attention to either of them as he gazed down upon his hand until tearing his gaze away to look at the boy once more.
"Thanks" although Ketzu had been a bit of a dick about it, he had come through. Coran would have never got the key chain back without him.

Nodding his head he watched him leave before his gaze moved to the woman again still puzzled as to how he went from being alone to being the centre of some unwanted attention.
Confused for a moment he regarded her wondering whether she would simply pick up where they left off.
"uh-yeah" he muttered turning as if he also intended on walking away
