Self Awareness: A Start to a New Beginning

After leaving Matt to his own devices, Enya's melancholy grew, which was not like her and she did not like the weigh of on her shoulders, bringing her down. She had done something wrong, she was sorry, and she would atone, do better. She hadn't killed anyone of this new family, so there was a plus. Many were gone or just in their own little worlds to even know that something had happened, which in the long was would cost them. What if the three of them wasn't at the barn to intercept the soldiers? Would they be at the manor this very moment?

Her thoughts kept flickering between coincidence or fate.Either way, it had happened and she was pissed at her self. All of those things she had said where true and...not so true. Enya was just truly lonely in her existence, but she couldn't tell Matty that, and it wasn't even a great reason for losing her control but it was a huge part as to why she did. She could do better, and would do better even if she was the one to initiate conversation with the members of the house. The worst thing they could do was just tell her no or ignore her. If that happened, she'd just move on to the next person and the next. She didn't believe for a moment that this was to be her life...but what if it was?

Angry with her thoughts, she made her way to room that just happened to be across the hall from Matt's...

I should move... she thought, he needed his space. Entering her room, she closed the door to gather her clothes and toiletries for her shower.

45 mins later...

Refreshed and cleansed of all the blood, soot, and smells from the fire and Matty's room, Enya felt as if she could breath again. The room she had taken didn't have much of her stuff to begin with and so she began to pack her duffel bag with the few shirts and pants she owned. She knelt down and lifted the quilts she had lying on top of the jewel encrusted box to hide it. Drawing in a breath as her hands touched it, she pulled it out and made her way to the bed, sitting cross legged, she smoothed her ivory hands over the polished lid.

The magic symbols glimmered as she caressed it, with out thinking she put her palm to the reader and pushed just a hint of her power to unlock the wards. The process took only a moment, but the lid unlatched. Using both hands she opened the lid, her eyes expression the respect she had for the weapon that would end her. As she opened the lid, the whole box jerked as the stake had only once task, to pierce her heart and send her to her eternal rest.

'Hello, Friend. Soon, but not tonight. I have not lost all that I am and the fire has not consumed me, as I fear it will when the time comes." With a sigh she closed the lid, the  wards locking back into place to contain the weapon.

If ever it came to her needing to be put down, she knew Ajax or even Matty could do it, but she would not ask that of them. The way her life has gone thus far, she did not even hope for a mate, and so the option of ending her her life fell to her own hands and so she had contracted with a witch to make this weapon. Payment had been for Enya to gather the items needed, and also a favor. The witch would call on her at a later date and the contract would be fulfilled. Witches where tricky and Enya did not trust her, and so she had manipulated the which into thinking she had the upper hand, but it wasn't so. Enya had left herself plenty of wiggle room in case she did not like the favor the witch asked of her.

Putting the box in her duffel, under her clothes, she zipped up. Her phone chimed on the night stand.

Message:

Foresaw you needing a little pick me up...

Enya scrolled to the picture attached...and about dropped the phone. Clutching it to her chest, heat crept to her cheeks and she looked around. As if anyone would have seen, she was alone. Shyly she pulled the phone away and looked at the picture again.

Her fangs sharpened ever so slightly as she looked at the naked male picture her friend from she circus has sent her. Before she could muster a response her phone chimed again.

Message:

Double date this Saturday???!!?!?! Ditch pops and the others. I need you. Hope this made you feel better. I never want to see a reading like that again <3 ya chick

Enya blinked at the message and sighed, she couldn't go. She would put everyone at risk including herself and they were human.

Enya tapped out a reply, Blush emoji x 5 followed by a heart and sad face. Can't go. To far away. Will need both to tame you anyway hahaha. Enjoy them for me. *send*

Feeling the opposite of productive, she grabbed her bag and headed elsewhere. Finding an empty room she tossed her bag inside then headed to work off some steam. Although the male had been human, he was hot..

Getting to the small gym the house had, she took stock of the inventory and shrugged it would work. She could feel the fire inside her chest flicker and dance, it was no longer satisfied to just idle.

Finding a clear spot, she padded barefoot across the floor, and began her breathing exercises followed by simple stretching. The stretching turned into more as her mind cleared, breathing relaxed she moved fluidly from one pose to the next, with a sweep if her hand or leg a controlled fire beam would sweep out followed up with another twist of her body, a flip, a sweep and turn. She used the entire space, mixing yoga with backflips, and back again to ballet. The rooms temperature spiked but nothing was on fire. She was in control if not lost with her moves.

She followed up with the tree pose, six flaming entities flared in front her as she opened her eyes. It wasn't much in the way of using her gift, but if she did a little each day the fierce raging flame that lived in her would not be aa fierce and perhaps she would not burn things down. With a wave if her hand the flames winked out.

Dabbing her face with her towel she eyed her phone and nibbled her lip. She swept the phone up and clicked on her friends text, she itched to scroll down to toggle the male eye candy her friend had sent her, but with a sigh she hit delete. It just wasn't in the cards. She hurt her brother on accident and he was an immortal, she shivered at the idea of going on a date with a human. It couldn't go anywhere but it would have been fun.

Pinching the bridge if her nose, she needed to get a grip...no she needed a drink..

Phone in hand, towel over shoulder she strolled to the kitchen to make her a shot.

Ryu had been back for just under 24 hours, he had kissed Hope, given gifts out and encouraged his best mate to propose to his ex fiancé. It had been interesting to say the least. After some proper sleep, Ryu got up, had a shower and pulled on some trousers. He felt sweltering, having spent a lot of his time away in dragon form in the outdoors, being inside in his human one would need some getting used to again, he would happily walk around fully nude if he could get away with it, unfortunately he could not, and so the trousers would do.

Ryu left his room and made his way down the hall and stairs to the kitchen, he was thirsty as fuck and needed some cold water. Turning into the kitchen he stopped at the door way looking at the woman inside curiously, he recognised her, it took him a minute to remember where from, ''Circus girl..right?'' He said pointing a finger at her, ''Or wrong?'' He questioned himself. He had met a woman in the forest once, when he had been in a particularly bad mood, and she invited him to this circus where he watched her do all sorts of fire tricks. At the time, he remembered thinking that the humans were really dumb to not see that no plain Jane human could manipulate fire like that. The woman was kind of cheating the humans really.

Maybe it was her, maybe it wasn't, it was many months ago after all. Ryu continued on to the cupboard, took out a cup and filled it to the brim with water.  He gulped it down and peered into the fridge seeing a banoffee pie, ''Hmmm.'' He raised a brow before taking it out and stabbing a fork into it and turning his attention back to the woman. He probably didn't know some of the people that lived here now, who knew what waifs and strays Hope had let come in.

Enya had rarely been to the kitchen, she didn't need blood on a regular bases and so she didn't venture her often. As she entered the kitchen she bit her lip as she looked from cabinet to cabinet. With a light shrug she began to open open one by one until she found a shot glass.

Now the booze she said in a sing song tone. After rummaging around behind stuff she exclaimed in triumph. There was always a bottles stashed behind something. Normally she would have her own but Ajax had taken her straight from what would be her last performance to here. No pit stops nada. Looking at the dark liquid she smiled. And poured, the liquid coming halfway up, a pause then she filled the rest of the way up just leaving a small space as to not spill it.

Wallowing and self pity was truly not her image, but just for tonight she would allow it. After all she has accomplished this night with hope Matt...the text was just the icing on the cake. Yet another reminder of something shed never had in all her long life.

"Alright Enya, just for tonight then tomorrow..we change this.."  she looked at the bottle and frowned, spotting a sticky note and pen she jotted a quick note "I owe you! E <3" then smoothed it over the label and resumed leaning against the counter.

She could here someone up and about, at first she thought it was Matt and so she had to compose her self...she was trying to give him space....but then the male spoke, it jogged a memory a vague one. Drink in hand she turned to face the person that was questioning who she was.

She couldn't help it, but she looked him over unashamed at her behavior at the moment, before meeting his gaze. She couldn't fault him for kinda not remembering, it was a long time ago. " well if it isn't the broody male from the woods. Small world..." As he went rummaging in the fridge she ogled his back side. If this was what was living here, she was in big trouble! Making a mental note, she would need to speak with Hope tomorrow asap about what was expected of her and her duties. She could not lounge around and let her thoughts swirl. The fire would build and build for a different reason and it would need an outlet.

She took the shot in one flick of her wrist, still watching as he set about stabbing a pie. Was he going to heat it or wolf it down?

She didn't think anyone would be around and had this whole idea shed drink alone and reflect think ...what ever she felt like.  Straightening her shoulders, she declared she wouldn't leave she was technically in the kitchen first. ..

Grabbing the bottle, she had already left the iou in it... might as well drink it, she set a full one next to him then sat in the chair across from him and filled her glass back up.

Ryu drank some more and took a big bite of the pie, stalling slightly as he saw her looking at him, or more eyeing him up. He was used to it really, not to float his own boat, but he was hardly unattractive and certainly stood out with the giant tattoo like markings all over him of dragons. Her eyes travelled him before meeting his own, and yes, she was the person he thought she was. With a nod he moved towards her and smiled slightly, ''Small world indeed.'' He said, clearly she was also a coven member, or he was pretty sure she would have been torn to shreds at being here as a trespasser. She had had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting him when he had been in a very dark place, he remembered seeming like a complete asshole in fact more than brooding. If you didn't know Ryu, most people thought he was some scary weirdo, especially if he was in a mood. But, she hadn't been, she had been cautious but she treated him respectfully, at least as far as he could remember.

The woman seemed to straighten her posture as though she had decided upon something, Ryu wasn't about to guess what, woman were strange and complicated things. He smiled to himself a little, Hope being one of the most complicated he had met. The woman placed a shot next to him and he eyed it a moment before pulling up a chair with his pie and water and placing them on the table. ''Drinking for your sorrows are we?'' He asked with a taunting glint in his eye, he brought the shot up with a nod of thanks before taking it back. Ryu could no longer get drunk, his insane body heat burnt the stuff off before it has a chance to do anything. When he had been younger, it took a lot to, but he could get drunk .... eventually, now it did nothing. ''Ryu.'' He said in greeting, ''And you are?'' He asked, he didn't know if they had exchanged names before, that memory was lost to him.

Enya looked at him like a women should if only for the first few seconds, as she really didn't want to be rude . Women probably stared at him all the time but she could appreciate the male specimen. It wasn't everyday she got see a males chest, or well been around one with the exception of her brother. The human males at the circus were never on her radar. His tatoos were just a bonus to his looks. They looked life like, very detailed. It was to look at and appreciate from a far. She gave him her attention once more now that they both had sat and talking.

"Enya, nice to officially meet you." She looked down at her drink and grinned, "Sorrows?" She laughed softly, a natural thing for r enya. She was typically a happy women nothing for to be sorrow about." Yeah, I guess you could say that. Just for tonight though. I might finish a bottle or two. Or five....before calling it quits. The affect will be the same, nothing. But the act is soothing" Enya didn't know if that many would get her drunk...she had wasted a lot of energy...perhaps the alcohol wouldn't burn off so quickly. She refilled her glass, then the set the bottle in the middle.

"Eating yours?'' he seemed to have things on his mind, but who didn't these days.

She had originally came for a small sip of blood and liquor mixture, but decided against it. She had used a lot of energy to expelled the silver from her body, to heal herself, and the to contain the silver and evaporate it...took a lot of energy. Blood would have reenergized her and fueled the fire. No, for now she would not feed. It was to dangerous to be at 100% health. It was also dangerous not to be with the soldiers so close. She was damned if she did and damned if she didn't.

She wanted to see if he ever attended the show and if so, did he like it, but if his response was negative.. well she didn't want to know.

She picked up the bottle and dangled it "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," she told him playfully half serious half not. Then she poured more into her glass setting back in yhe middle for him.

She paused only lightly, not sure if he would or wouldn't but as neither if them new each other that well, she gave him in out, a safer topic.

Is the manor, always so...quiet? She asked. "No parties? Music? She wasn't used to it at all. She was used to noise and the hustle and bustle of the circus the crowd the smells, everything that wasn't the manor.

''And you, Enya. The name's Ryu.'' He said with a friendly smile and a nod.''You too huh?'' He grinned, he missed the days were he could get drunk and not care about anything, it has been an escape, ''Sucks doesn't it?'' He said, refilling another shot glass for himself, ''Mind if I join you?'' He asked, having nothing better to do. ''Nah...I just like to eat.'' He answered, Ryu's appetite was insane but it never affected his physique no matter how much he ate.

''Bit different from your circus huh?'' He stated, ''It never used to be this quiet. There are more people here now too, but I've only been back for about a day.'' He said, taking back the drink and pouring another, offering her a fill up too. A lot had happened over the years to the residents here, the bad had outweighed the good, so the atmosphere was never really as party like as it used to be. ''Ketzu must not be around much.'' He laughed to himself, not knowing if she knew the wolf vamp, now he was the life and soul of most places. ''But yeah, it is a bit eerily quiet.'' He said glancing around.

''So that circus act of yours, how long were you doing that for?'' He asked, he wondered if it had made her feel normal and not a hated immortal. ''Your ability was fire..right?'' He said, trying to remember exactly what he had watched way back when. He wondered how she had become part of the coven too, small world.

Re: Awareness

Post by Enya M on Thu 25 Jan 2018, 20:48

Enya was pensive as she waited to see what would happen. When she met him in the woods he had been angry? Annoyed? Some type of way when she had stumbled upon, he had been guarded and felt the presences of the predator that he was. She didn’t know what he was and still didn’t, but she knew he was one. Seeing him now, it was like he was a different person. His attitude..changed, at least for now.

She had been worried at first when he came into the kitchen, most…no, all of the time Enya did not regard this place as her home. She still felt like unwanted guest, but she was slowly starting to settle in. It wasn’t as if she had bumped into the residence or was in the way. The isolation and quietness of the place was her company and had been so up until …she cracked and led her to this moment.

”You too, huh? It took her a moment, her eyes went from him to the glass then back. The smile she had grew just a tinsy bit bigger at seeing him grin. “The alcohol thing?” She glared at the small glass playfully before kicking it back. “It sucks big time that the affect no longer holds.” At his question to join, she was a little shocked. “No of course…help yourself.” She waved her hand gently at the table, chair and surrounding area in a small wave. It was his house…and the first bit of conversation that hadn’t ended up with reprimands, threats, or angry glares.
She trailed off then blinked at him, before throwing his question back at him. “What do you mean you too?” She looked intrigued as if she stumbled upon a secret.

At the mention of his food she looked at it with a slight forlorn look, how long had it been since she tasted human food…Enya couldn’t bring herself to bring up the number. She knew was ooooolld!

It’d be nice to have a take away instead of those bagged blood pouches. Although she didn’t drink from humans, the act to risky for her, she had always opened a wound and drained it into a cup if handy. Shaking her head lightly, she focused on his question, the circus. Thinking about that made her happy and sad at the same time, but talking about brought a spark to her aura.

She giggled softly, “Oh yeah. The circus is loud, and the smells!! It gets to a point you can’t tell if it smells nice or your about to …” she looked to him eating then grinned, “or about to lose your lunch. The popcorn, cotton candy, deep fried foods and other venders, mixed with that of the humans and animals. People are always about, there is always something to do.” Her fingers toyed with the empty glass, at his request she nodded and stopped toying with the drink log enough for him to fill it up. “Getting up early never bothered me, nor feeding and cleaning the stalls. Everyone pitched in to get the tents set up, the food trucks, and the stages. Everyone had their parts to do, but.. there was always someone to lend a hand if needed.”

As he picked up with him only returning and talking about another residence she frowned and shook her head, “People have been to themselves since me and the rest of the Matashina Coven showed up. Besides my brother Matt, I’ve spoken to Hope and now you directly. In fact, those are the only two people I’ve seen recently.” And by recent she meant, tonight. She inwardly cringed; glad he didn’t want to discuss issues. Their conversation was seemingly going okay, but she was worried if she mentioned burning the residence’s barn and soldiers coming and then Hope…she cringed and tossed back the drink he just filled. If the others knew, she’d probably be hated by Hope’s people. Hope had also not called a meeting to tell the others that there had been soldiers nearby. Enya didn’t want to undermine Hope, so that was another blessing that he didn’t pick up that topic. Enya didn’t want to accidently “Spill the Beans”, especially if Hope didn’t say something first. It worried Enya, the residence should know how close they were, shouldn’t they? Should measures be taken to prevent another attack? She worried at her lip as her thoughts turned to tonight’s events, but in the hopes of not causing panic and ruining her chance of make a friend or at least someone that doesn’t hate her, she kept her mouth shut, for now.

Not showing her inner turmoil, for Enya loved to be around others and to be liked, needed, after tonight’s events her stomach was all knotted with worry. Licking her now dry lips, her eyes stinging with emotions, they flitted to the bottle and poured another shot for herself, resisting the urge to just turn down the bottle.

Thankfully, Ryu picked back with her story of the circus drawing her away from her thoughts and worries. The liquor burned her throat, but it was pleasing. She eyed the bottle, “Looks like we may need to restock, surely there are more hidden about the manor?” she asked as she stood to open another cabinet, “Is there a such thing as a Ligour Cabinet?” she asked over her shoulder to him. Getting up helped with her nerves, she liked to keep busy. Sitting, idling was not her thing.

Not finding anything in the cabinet she closed it and turned to him with a slight grin, “Yes, fire is my thing.” The word “is” she emphasized by producing a small ball in her hand letting it dance and flicker before snuffing it out. She moved to the next cupboard and frowned as it too was void of anything alcoholic. With a small huff she swept her hair back over her shoulder and leaned against the counter facing him. She tapped her finger to her lips as she thought about his question, “A couple of years. I can’t stay at one place for too long, you know. We don’t age. But, I’ve been lots of things in the past. Role-playing if my favorite, I once impersonated a nurse, doctor, writer…”, she trailed off as the list could go on and on. “You name it, I probably was it. Procuring artifacts for Ajax was super fun, gathering intel… but, well all of that fun came to an end with the times and so I too had to change. As a human I’d done acts before, raised a few coin with my “palor” tricks. I had fun and enjoyed it, so I picked back with a few different circus or freak show acts throughout the millenniums. I love being surrounded by people and performing, being able to be me with out actually being me. I make people happy and smile all the time, especially the human children. They are such cuties. Seeing how happy they are and how their faces light up… I did that for that. Me and the rest of the crew…” She smiled and came back to reality as she relived her moments, she loved being able to see how much joy she gave to others. She also got to use her power on a daily bases, thus it didn’t build up and build up. It had been her outlet.

She smiled a bit shyly as she finished, “Tell me something about you Ryu, I’ve been monopolizing the time talking about me, me, me. Let’s hear about you.”
